McIntosh L19, Mac1700 and & Mac1900 Receiver Wood Cabinet with wood wedge feet. This the Original walnut veneer cabinet from McIntosh meant to house their top-of-the-line stereo receivers. Cabinet is in great condition in all respects. What looks to be defects on the top of the cabinet is the simulated wood grain of the veneer. Most of the later Mac receiver cabinets have these simulated knot, wood grain areas/markings. This cabinet has full integrity to securely hold your prized stereo receiver. Since it was made by McIntosh its a perfect fit for both the 1700 and 1900. Mounting screws are Not included. The four screws are available from virtually any hardware store or even Home Depot. The amplifier section is similar to the renowned McIntosh MC225 (what we vote the best amp from this brand) considered by many to be the best tube amplifier ever manufactured. The preamp section is another great McIntosh component. The tuner section is tube based and is similar to the McIntosh MR67, considered by many to be among the best tube tuners ever made. While the word best evokes strong emotions among audiophiles, knowledgeable audio experts and technicians agree that the quality of this handmade beauty is unparalleled. McIntosh tube gear from this era was handmade and is famous for being gentle on the tubes, leading to incredibly long tube life. Another interesting feature is the headphone section of this receiver which has a separate, specialized winding designed for using high end headphones. This feature exists in no other receiver I can find in the literature (borrowed from an Ebay listing).The McIntosh MAC 1500, introduced in 1965, is essentially a hybrid amplifier with a solid state preamp section, tube output section and FM tuner.
