Relisted due to non-paying auction winner. McIntosh MX130 A/V Tuner Control Center Preamplifier acquired from the original owner. I cant seem to get output through this unit, so working condition is suspect. Offered for repair or restoration. There is no remote control included. I forgot to take it when carrying this unit to my car. This pre-amp/tuner was the nucleus of a home theater system in an ultra-luxury home. When tested in the home I was able to change many of the parameters of the system. Surround sound, hall, stereo, etc. all worked including many of the inputs and multiple channels. I carefully, gently disconnected it from the other McIntosh components. I tested it on my system, and either I couldnt figure out how to use it, or it doesnt work anymore. The tuner pulls in a strong stereo signal, but I couldnt figure out how to attach an amplifier and get output. I even tried hooking up a CD player and couldnt seem to get output. I was able to get output in FM when attaching the RCA cables to all of the output jacks for different inputs, but the controls on the unit didnt affect the functions of the preamplifier. When disconnected from the original main system, there were some types of plugs that I didnt recognize. To be perfectly honest, this unit is well above my knowledge level. I pride myself on honesty, and I can state I dont know what I am doing when it comes to the modern sophistication of this unit. I am still stuck in the 1960s and 70s simple stereo systems. As far as cosmetics, this preamplifier / tuner is in excellent condition with no flaws to report. One of the lamps appear to be out on the latter part of the word McIntosh. It has been maticulously restored electronically (audio and power supply caps), as well as all modifications installed including LDR and MPX. Tunes in stations flawlessly. This MX113 is in a pristine original wood case with pan loks, chrome chassis is beautiful. I have the original box for the unit. I have accumulated hundreds of pieces of audio equipment over the 40 years I serviced and restored. Some are being sold as is and other are being restored by me. Because I no longer align equipment this was sent to the authorized Service Center in MInneapolis. The gentleman who does the work has 40 years experience as an authorized MC tech. His work is superb. This is a very nice McIntosh MX 113 tuner/preamp. It has both AM and FM bands. Face is very good and the chassis and trim is very good. The unit was rebuilt to meet MC specs and then tuner was aligned by a certified MC Tech in Minneapolis, MN. Everything works perfectly as a MC should. The cost of the rebuild was $495.12. All old parts and the service invoice and copy of the factory owners manual are included and it will be double boxed. The first box is a Factory McIntosh 113 box with factory packing. Knobs will be removed to further protect the glass. Shipping is $99.95- This is via FED EX Home. I will not ship this via UPS or USPS. Unit is both cosmetically and electronically in excellent condition except for small ding on top edge of front panel.Has been checked out by our technicians. Comes with a programmed universal remote and a copy of the setup manual. Specifications: Distortion: Left Channel .04% Right Channel .04% Signal to Noise: Left Channel 70db Right Channel 70db Unless specified otherwise all pre-owned equipment has been fully serviced and bench tested to meet all original specifications. Technicians testing would include • All Switches and Controls have been cleaned and lubricated, there is No noise or static in any of the controls, they all work nice, smooth and perform perfectly. Cleaning these controls involves removing the controls completely from the circuit board to do a thorough cleaning. All controls shafts are straight. • All display lamps and indicator lights are working and fully functional. Display and stereo indicator bulbs, were replaced with new equivalents (nice & bright). Replacement of these bulbs involve removing many pieces and very time consuming, some must be desoldered and then resoldered. • All inputs, outputs and functions are fully bench tested and working perfectly. All loose, cold-solder joints especially on the input / output jacks, pots and switches have been de-soldered and re-soldered. All screws and nuts have been tightened. • Regulator and Power supply were adjusted for correct specified output, and all large electrolytic capacitors were checked for leakage. • All out of tolerance components were replaced as needed. Clear and equal sound in both channels. • All Phono and Tape inputs and outputs have been tested, they are working perfectly (sound strong and clear). • Adjusted and realigned FM section for optimum performance as over the years the tuner must be aligned. • Tuning dial string and dial pointer have been realigned. • Units DC offset and Bias Voltage has been set and adjusted. • Unit has a excellent safe, AC power cord.

Cleaning these controls involves removing the controls completely from the circuit board to do a thorough cleaning. All controls shafts are straight. •All display lamps and indicator lights are working and fully functional. Display and stereo indicator bulbs, were replaced with new equivalents (nice & bright). Replacement of these bulbs involve removing many pieces and very time consuming, some must be desoldered and then resoldered. •All inputs, outputs and functions are fully bench tested and working perfectly. All loose, cold-solder joints especially on the input / output jacks, pots and switches have been de-soldered and re-soldered. All screws and nuts have been tightened. •Regulator and Power supply were adjusted for correct specified output, and all large electrolytic capacitors were checked for leakage. •All out of tolerance components were replaced as needed. Clear and equal sound in both channels. •All Phono and Tape inputs and outputs have been tested, they are working perfectly (sound strong and clear). •Adjusted and realigned FM section for optimum performance as over the years the tuner must be aligned. •Tuning dial string and dial pointer have been realigned. •Units DC offset and Bias Voltage has been set and adjusted. •Unit has a excellent safe, AC power cord.
