This is my original CD player, bought in the late eighties from Richer Sounds. I've had it serviced and the tray mechanism replaced (these fail over time). It has a few scratches (see pictures) but is in pretty good condition apart from that - display, tray and controls all undamaged and work fine. Welcome to my listing for beautiful and mint condition Marantz CD-52 MkII CD Player. This lovely unit from the venerable stable of Marantz delivers music with surprising authority and detail. It is the upgraded version of the already universally praised CD-52. This MkII model is a very smooth, clean and detailed sounding CD player and can easily be partnered with higher end components. It really does sound excellent. The transport is the very high quality and resonance free Philips CDM-4/19 mechanism, known for its reliability and found on many high end CD players. The DAC on board is the high precision SAA7350GP Bitstream chip. I have fully serviced this unit including a new gear and belt for the drawer, which now opens and closes as smooth as butter! The headphone output is also of a very high quality, if that is important to you. As you can see from the pictures, this player is in truly excellent condition throughout. It reads and navigates discs with speed and precision and every button and function works perfectly and as it should. This ships with its original remote control and manual, also in excellent condition. It is rare to find one of these in such great condition.
