Ls5/9 Speakers. Collection from Colchester please. Lots of scratches on the enclosures, but speakers themselves are good. Would definitely benefit from a black wax wood crayon, to make the scratches less obvious. Id advise you to bring your amplifier and cables and whatever else you wish, so you can have a good listen to these before you take them. Prefer cash when you collect please. ROGERS LS5/9 VINTAGE SPEAKERS MATCHED Originally black ash but quite badly scratched, I have re-veneered these in book-matched oak. The top and right front edges of one speaker’s veneer is slightly less flush compared to the rest but this is only noticeable when looking directly down or side on, and does not detract from the overall appearance, which is very good. The drivers are all in excellent condition, as are the grills. PLEASE NOTE Pictured stands are NOT included in this auction Although I do not have the original packaging, these will be shipped in a custom made box with strong (3 cm wide) foam inserts to protect the corners and sides. Equally at home in a domestic setting, the open and expansive mid-range reveals previously unheard details from even the most familiar recordings.With Derek Hughes at the drawing board, the original BBC design has been recreated. A new bass/midrange driver has been developed in conjunction with Volt Loudspeakers which uses a substantial die-cast aluminium frame and a massive motor assembly, allied to a diaphragm formed from a selected grade of polypropylene and matched to a high quality rubber surround. Each bass driver is hand-assembled and tested by Volt.The tweeter is a selected version of the Audax 34mm soft dome, which is protected by a strong metal grille. A sophisticated crossover network blends the units together and equalises the overall response for optimum performance in free space.The cabinet uses classic BBC thinwall construction, and is manufactured in the UK from high quality 9mm birch plywood. Hand-matched veneers are applied and finished to a very high standard indeed. All joints in the cabinet are reinforced with hardwood batons to ensure long life and total air sealing. The panels are mass-loaded to ensure that resonances are moved away from the critical mid-range region, and a layer of Rockwool held in place by fabric provides air damping. Ls5/9 Speakers. Collection from Colchester please. Lots of scratches on the enclosures, but speakers themselves are good. Would definitely benefit from a black wax wood crayon, to make the scratches less obvious. Id advise you to bring your amplifier and cables and whatever else you wish, so you can have a good listen to these before you take them. Prefer cash when you collect please. I can pack these for your courier to collect, but I will require the Ebay collection code when they arrive to take them, to prove it has been collected by your courier which will prevent. item not received claims.
