NAIM AUDIO PREFIX (S) PHONO STAGE - FOR LINN SONDEK LP12 (MOVING COIL CARTRIDGES) Includes 3 fixing screws Excellent condition - see photos. Just some slight cosmetic discolouration of grey SNAIC lead - thats all. Sounds superb. This ultra high quality phono preamp screws onto the corner brace of a Linn LP12 turntable (3 screws included) and plugs straight into the base of a Linn arm - eg Ittok or Ekos. The arm plug on this example is the original metal Prefix plug, but it has been modified, so that the left and right signal channel leads can be kept completely apart. The last photo above shows this Prefix fitted to a Linn LP12, for illustrative purposes only (The LP12 is not included in this sale). The earth lead on this Prefix has been fitted with a handy phono plug (the Prefixs earth wire is connected to the earth on the phono plug) so that it can be simply plugged into any phono socket on an amp to earth the Prefix. Or, the plug could simply be cut off, if you wish to connect the Prefix to an amps dedicated phono earth. The Naim Prefix requires a separate power supply - eg a Naim Flatcap or HiCap or the internal power supply supplied by some Naim amps eg Supernait 2. The idea of the Naim Prefix is that it dramatically shortens the (loss inducing) phono signal pathway from arm to amp and removes the thick arm cable that can give set up problems on some LP12s. It is a specialist item - please only buy it if you have a low output moving coil cartridge, plus an independent power supply and understand the installation process. Turntable Linn Sondek LP12 kit Valhalla + Lurne arm 2 + Moving coil cartridge Supex 900 super + Supex SDT 1000 pre-preamplifier. This turntable (pictures1-5), his tone arm and Supex 900 super (picture 6) and Supex SDT 1000 step transformer (pictures 7 and 8) are in perfect working conditions and come with several accessories including a spare belt, the oil for the tone arm in a syringe, a Decca brush for cleaning LPs and a Supex liquid for cleaning the stylus (pictures 9 and 10), the written instructions of Mr. Lurne himself (the conceptor of the famous Goldmund turntable) to adjust any cartridge (in French, but that I will be very pleased to translate, being fully bilingual, picture 11) and all original packages (pictures 12 and 13). The stylus of the Supex 900 super cartridge is in excellent condition as my Linn Sondek was only used to read brand new LPs (see last paragraph below). I am a stereo maniac, with a McIntosh amplifier 7270, McIntosh preamplifier C31V, McIntosh CD player MCD 7007, McIntosh FM tuner MR 7082 connected to an external antenna, Quad ESL 63 Pro electrostatic speakers, Revox B77 reel to reel tape recorder, and Nakamichi 1000 ZXL K7 deck, both tape recorders connected to a DBX 124 noise reduction unit (see pictures 14 and 15). Connectic is by Monster cables, except for the Quads, which are connected to the amplifier by Leedh cables. My listening room is almost perfect with a height of 6.5 m in inverse V (see pictures 16 and 17), and thus with a huge volume. The Quads ESL 63 Pro are perfectly placed at 1.2 m of the back and lateralwalls in stone (0.7 m thick) and distant of 4.5 m. The insulation of the walls on the back of the Quads has been rigidified to avoid any parasite vibration as the Quads function in doublet. There is a specific electric line for the stereo directly from the electric counter. You may notice 1) that the amplifier at the bottom of my rack is sufficiently far away of the other components to avoid any radiation of the monstrous output transformers of the McIntosh amplifier 7270, and 2) that the Quads are on home-made metallic stands. They are filled with sand with cork supports on both the metallic plate bottom of the Quads and on the wooden floor. In my personal opinion the Quad stands are not high enough to get a perfect stereo image for a seated listener. I have plenty of test CDs including the Chesky volumes 1 to 3, plenty of friends who are musicians, and I regularly assist to live concerts of mostly Baroque music, blues and jazz... I had two turntables: This Linn Sondek LP12 operating in my main listening room with an AGI 511 A preamplifier (much better than my present McIntosh preamp for its phono section, already sold recently on eBay). Another secondary stereo system with a turntable Thorens TD 160 (also recently sold on eBay) was in use in my office comprising a Marantz 2225 receiver connected to the external FM antenna, a basic Sony CD player CDP-690, and a pair of French 3A Apogée Monitor speakers (see pictures 18 and 19).

LINN URIKA MK1 ANALOGUE MOVING COIL PHONO PRE-AMP FOR SONDEK LP12 This item was professionally installed and uninstalled by an authorised Linn Dealer. Originally installed in 2018 but had very little use as the previous owner worked abroad and also upgraded to a Urika 2 after only a couple of months use, the item has been carefully stored since then. This is a superb bit of Linn kit, one of the best phono stages. It replaces the base board on you LP12 Sondek, and plugs directly in to the arm, giving the tiny voltages produced by the moving coil cartridge the shortest travel length prior to amplification to a line level output, that can plug in to any pre-amplification. To operate the Urika requires a Linn Radikal power supply.This unit comes boxed in a Urika MK2 box and complete with all the original leads (power supply leads and Linn Silver phono interconnects).It is in first class condition and perfect working order, the shading line shown in the sixth image is just the flash from the camera.The price for a brand new Urika is £2910, making this a real bargain on the second-hand market.Any questions?
