This is one of those pieces thats been around the ShowHome so long, its hard to remember just when it was first installed... What an incredibly well built and amazing sounding pre-amp! Forget about using any of the video circuitry and simply enjoy it for what it is... a Reference 5-channel or 2-channel preamp~ Hook it up to your favorite amplifier and sit back~ SACD discs and even standard Red Book CDs sound remarkable! When you build a piece as well as Krell, you can expect things to last and last...and last. Use the balanced outputs whenever possible and enjoy some the best imaging we have ever heard. I can’t believe this piece is 30 years old and counting (!) and still competes with components we recommend and set up today… Just incredible- For those of you too young or not familiar with the reputation of Krell equipment, let me just say that in its day, it was one of the most revered and coveted preamp/processors ever built. The fit and finish and the internal components were almost military in spec and it was our Reference Processor in Theater Room 1. It carried a MSRP of almost $10,000.00! By far the most expensive piece of gear we had ever bought and sold... The remote control feels like it was made out of a solid piece of aluminum billet (actually, it was!) and everything seems to work perfectly- I wish I had room somewhere to keep this piece warmed up and used, but it needs to go to a good custodian who will use and appreciate it as I have for all these years. A very well made home theater system that also does audiophile grade two channel stereo. Was only using the stereo until I upgraded. I was able to test the 5.1 and most features but not all. The condition is very good due to a few wear marks on the aluminum side bumpers. Unfortunately it does not come with the original remote. A third party remote is included along with an upgraded large gauge iec power cord. Original power cord also included.

A very well made home theater system that also does audiophile grade two channel stereo. Was only using the stereo until I upgraded. I was able to test the 5.1 and most features but not all. The condition is very good due to a few wear marks on the aluminum side bumpers. Unfortunately it does not come with the original remote. A third party remote is included along with an upgraded large gauge iec power cord. Original power cord also included.
