Krell CD-DSP with remote just recapped-works great. This can function as a cd player,transport or dac. This is a later revision of the CD-DSP MK1- main difference being later firmware,2 large output caps vs 3 smaller ones in earlier version and the digital inputs are in slightly different order. All inputs and outputs work. Restoration work: Recapped main digital supply with orignal sprague 515Ds,main audio supply with nichicon Muse fine gold, the Nichicon VX series was not recapped due to its outstanding longetivity and lack of a suitable modern replacement. The common to fail caps in the servo board were also replaced with better Nichicons. There was also some work done on inner metal chasis. The front left top screw hole has been filled with JB weld,retapped and repainted. It functions fine but needs to be tightned to just flush with chasis. It cant take being over tightned like the original metal holes. If ever taken apart it should be first screw removed and first put back when putting back together. Great sounding unit. Will be well packed and fully insured with signature to continental United States. Sorry NO PO Boxes and no overeas buyers on this.Update:Just added more pics.Update 9/20/23 added a demo on you tube. Wow... this piece really takes me back!A wonderful example of a reference pre/amp processor from Krell and our first step (along with Proceed) into the High End world of Audio/Video around 1991/92 ~ As a founding member of CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) I was introduced to this piece and Dan DAgostino in the early 90s~ Dan was the founder of Krell and one of the very first companies to see the future of high performance multi-channel sound. The Home Theatre Standard literally set the standard by which all other pieces were compared. The sound and build quality were second to none and the fit and finish were exemplary. Only later, did Mark Levinson and Madrigal Labs with the Proceed line seem to get close. This piece has a special place in my A/V memory... It was sold to a great client of ours, who used it for years until trading up to McIntosh.It had been sitting in the dark for sometime, when I finally got around to testing it.Obviously, as a processor, it is completely antiquated. However, as a two-channel pre-amp with the ability to decode a 5.1 mix, it is superb!I have listened to it for hours and its soundstage, image and depth are beyond amazing for its age.The noise floor is beyond belief and rivals some of our best gear. The internals seem to be excellent; even the caps show no signs of stress! The Home Theater Standard listed for $10,000 (as I recall) which was an absolute fortune 25 years ago! At the time, it was far and away the most expensive piece of equipment we sold. The remote feels like a solid billet of aluminum (it is!) and works perfectly.All the lights work; the switches, the display is as bright as it was when new.Its the best example of an iconic piece of gear I think Ive seen in years... DSD Stereo first applies any left and right channel crossover configured in the Foundation 4K UHD menu, converts the signal to analog, and then sends it to the left and right outputs. DSD Multi supports multichannel DSD recordings and utilizes all crossovers configured in the Foundation 4K UHD menu. There is no configuration required as the Foundation 4K UHD automatically recognizes a DSD signal and defaults to the last used DSD mode for playback. Pressing the mode button on the remote control or web server interface will cycle through all three DSD modes.The Foundation 4K UHD will allow owners to take full advantage of the best audio soundtracks available, with decoding of Dolby Digital, Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS-ES Discrete, Matrix, and DTS-HD Master Audio.
