From my private collection:This is one of the best-sounding cartridges I have kept for years. Koetsu Rosewood Signature MC Moving Coil Stereo Phono Cartridge. This cartridge has been upgraded by my Japanese friend, he is a retired Koetzu engineer with FG-S Line Contact Stylus on Boron Cantilever and Suspension Tune Up, just did an audition and the sound is great, better than its original so much, and has only been audition for less then 3 hours. I did some further research about this cartridge. Turned out that it uses Alnico magnet, rather than neodymium and platinum magnet in later version. This long-body signature is rare and harder to buy than new Koetsu. This is one of the most prestigious and sought after cartridges available! New, this gem sells for $5,495.00. I tested the cartridge recently, and it produced sound, and tracked properly. It is a Moving Coil cartridge that will require step up transformer, or Pre Amp to produce the sound its capable of!NOTE: I removed this cartridge from a VPI HW19 which was owned by a well known hifi and recording gear reviewer. This turntable was in his living room, and was his main turntable. It had 2 arms. One being a Rabco tangential other being a Technics 9 arm. The latter had this Koetsu Rosewood Signature.
