This is one of the most prestigious and sought after cartridges available! New, this gem sells for $5,495.00. I tested the cartridge recently, and it produced sound, and tracked properly. It is a Moving Coil cartridge that will require step up transformer, or Pre Amp to produce the sound its capable of!NOTE: I removed this cartridge from a VPI HW19 which was owned by a well known hifi and recording gear reviewer. This turntable was in his living room, and was his main turntable. It had 2 arms. One being a Rabco tangential other being a Technics 9 arm. The latter had this Koetsu Rosewood Signature. I wasnt able to authenticate the number of hours it was used. I did test and it produced a crisp sound and tracked properly. I have it priced low enough so that a buyer can have it re-tipped at some point. VPI Industries in New Jersey does excellent work. They charge $400 for a re-tip. He estimated that it would cost between $500 if it just needs a new boron cantilever or could cost more than $1200 if he has to take it apart and repair the coil. Make sure to do your due diligence. Get some estimates, maybe you find a better deal maybe you don’t. Remember this is an as-is sale. I’m not a cartridge repair man, I’m not qualified to diagnose or estimate cost.
