Audio Research I/50 Integrated Tube Amp Black w/ DAC + PHONO Modules I am selling my like new black I/50 integrated amp by audio research. I am the original owner of it. It comes exactly as it would if you bought it brand new. This is the most desirable color and speced out unit in my opinion as it comes with both the $1000 (?) DAC upgrade (which sounds AMAZING) and the same $1000 Phono Card Upgrade. This maxes out the potential of the unit and its in a sleek black color which I liked most. There are a few hundred hours on it total as it was a 3rd system for me so its literally perfectly broken in and sounds wonderful. Its a deceptively small system but when I plugged it into my Wilson Sasha 2 speakers it powered them with ample amounts of power and sounded great there and it also made these Tannoy System 1000 speakers that I used with them sound excellent as well. Audio Research VSi60 integrated amplifier in excellent condition. I purchased it gently used 7 years ago with about 100 hours of use on the tubes according to the previous owner. I put an additional 100 hours into them and really, really enjoyed every bit of audio I ever put through this machine. However, when I moved to NYC a little over 5 years ago, I had to consolidate a lot of my audiovisual equipment into a single room instead of having the luxury of dedicated audio space...so this unit has sat safely in storage within my apartment for the past 5 years or so. Despite what on its face may seem like a fairly modest output power (50Wpc), this integrated amp REALLY excels with low impedance speakers and is a very handsome centerpiece for an audio setup that doesnt have unlimited cabinet space for a more complex setup. .I assume if your looking you know the sound and build quality that this amp represents. Its been the highlight of my main system for the last 20 years and sounds as good today as when new.. Its been in a non-smoking home and was housed a dedicated audio cabinet and was primary used for music. I had bi-amped my main speakers (Mcintosh LS360s) using 4 of the channels and the other three for the center and rear speakers. There is a small area on the top corner of the left front panel that has cosmetic damaged when it was shipped to me as well as one of the channels speaker terminals that was pushed in very slightly. Acoustic research ARAU amplifier. This unit is apparently completely original and appears to have never been serviced. As the photographs will show, this unit has been lovingly taken care of with almost no physical imperfections noted whatsoever. I ran it for over three hours, and the heat sinks never got warm to the touch. All that being said, this unit is over 50 years old and should be recapped appropriately. With the appropriate electrolytic capacitors replaced, this should last a very long time. If you are looking at this listing, you know what this amplifier is. Due to the age of this unit and the unrestored fully original nature of it, it is being sold as is as described.
