For sale is a tonearm cable for the Empire 980 tonearm, which appeared on their 398 and 498 models, and was sold separately. I used this cable for several years - it DOES pass sound well, however can be finicky about the RCA input positions and will produce a loud hum if positioned a certain way. If that happened, I just rotated the RCA inputs a little until it went away. It was never a big problem for me. If I didn’t touch it, I wouldn’t have any issues with it. As such, this is being sold as NON-FUNCTIONAL/for parts. I make no guarantees that you will have the same experience with this. Cosmetically it’s in good shape, with a few cracks in the rubber insulation, consistent with something that’s 60+ years old. RCA inputs seem to hold on the female connector firmly.
