Adcom GTP-400 Pre-Amp Preamplifier Tuner Processor AM/FM - Tested W/Flaws. Powers on and seems to work. It’s overall in good shape, but has a very small dent on the top as well as a deep scratch on the face. The volume knob is wobbly but functional, seems like it can be a little scratchy at times. Being sold as is, with noted flaws.

Adcom GTP-400 AM/FM Stereo Tuner / Preamplifier Combo. Thoroughly tested, everything on this component works as it should. The tuner pulls in a strong stereo signal for both local and distant stations, using a thin double wire for an indoor antenna. Using a thin wire for an antenna, AM performance is also outstanding. All inputs in the pre-amp section including phono follow their dedicated signal path. Combining the tuner and preamplifier always made sense to me since they are both low current devices. At the time this unit was made it was considered American Made audiophile quality. It still can hold its own with the best of them. Easy to use and performs exactly as it should. All controls, memory, display, switches, features and functions work as designed. Cosmetically a few scuffs on the base and side corner of the bezel which I touched up with black marker. Flaws are not easily found unless specifically looking for imperfections up close. As stated, performance is exemplary in all respects. Please view the auction photos. Bass/treble and balance pots. Tuner presets. All in all a very easy pre-amp to use. Now for the 5400 power amplifier, this uses MOSFETs for power. At 125 watts per channel, it is a power house, I was running dual woofer infinity 5b, park of the 82 kappa line, these have visual 6.5 inch . The sound was beautiful thru this amp. It is mid weight at 27 lbs. Gold plated inputs. Banana plugs speaker outputs. The only concern is MOSFETs circuits run hot. I kept this on an open shelf, it never shut down from overheating. I have both looked at by a local vintage tech. The amp just needed ba bit of cleaning. The pre amp had 2 caps replaced. I hate to get rid of these , time to down size.
