DENON DRW-585 Double Cassette Deck HI-FI Separate SPARES OR REPAIR PROJECT SPARES OR REPAIR: Item sold as FAULTY, SPARES OR REPAIRS FOR PARTS OR PROJECT ONLY. DECK A is missing the door (not just the removable piece, the whole door is gone) so unusable/untestable. DECK B has been briefly function tested: FF, REW working, Playback tested using the headphone output sound quality is very nice. Belts seem fine (on this deck). Please note the item has only been briefly function tested. There may be other issues as yet undiscovered. Please note the buttons seem to require quite a hard press to operate, I would assume it would benefit from a bit of contact cleaner on the buttons. It usually shows the Left channel slightly softer than the right. We replaced the knob and the electronic components associated with it. Not recommended for recording via Line-In but with a little patience and fine adjusting it will work fine and does produce really nice sounding recordings. Because of this issue we are selling this deck as Used and not accepting returns for any reason. Lower price reflects this defect. Normal and High Speed Dubbing are not effected by this and work correctly. This deck does not output sound when using High Speed Dubbing. This is normal for this deck. Handling Time For Sony Products...It is our policy that all Sony cassette decks undergo an additional, complete test before being shipped out. This is to make sure this deck you purchased will function correctly as Sony cassette decks from this era are notoriously unreliable. Its still an analog technology, it still suffers from unwanted noise, it still eats a tape from time to time. These are flaws of the format and not necessarily an indication of a faulty cassette deck. We test our cassette decks for several hours using a combination of very old, worn tapes, new old stock tapes, pre-recorded original tapes, and custom made tapes from our own new tape stock. Only when a deck can make it through a test cycle without any major issues, and without eating a tape, do we post them for sale. Despite all this, it will still eat a tape from time to time. We DO NOT guarantee your tapes will work and do not offer any return options due to specific tape problems. Buy at your own risk.
