Like new less than 100 hrs 6922 tubes NOS Amperex Gold pin. Recently replaced 1629 Green Eye Indicator tubes less than 100 hrs. This tube amp has served me well. Quite impressed with the range of music this amp could serve. I listen to motown oldies, jazz, melodic death metal, and classical. Didnt do quite so well with the classical. I was utilizing a Mcintosh C41 with a SMSL SU9 and a technics MKII SL1200. In my opinion this amp does very well with digital peripherals. So so with the analog. Awesome sounding 300B amp and matching preamp. Includes USA Western Electric 300Bs. Includes all 6SN7s US old stock. Glorious sounding on my Focal Aria 948s which are 93db efficient. These were used with Klipsch La Scalas. which are much more efficient to better use the max 11 watts. I heard them and they were amazing. I am very discerning so the only thing I noticed is a tiny loose glass particle in each tube. It hurts nothing but I would want to be told this ahead of time. I checked the tubes on my calibrated TV-7D/U and they are a perfect match at 82.5 where 58 would be the minimum representing 70 % so these are 100%+. Will be double boxed in 3 boxes, one for each amp and one for tubes.

CARY AUDIO CAD-805C Mono Block Amplifier LITERATURE Spec Sheet ! NICE !! This is a original dealer Literature Spec Sheet provided by Cary Audio. The condition is very nice with a little storage wear mostly on bottom edge.

There is no useless info here, so please spend a couple minutes to read ALL of it before spending $1500. Overall this Cary tube amp is in very good condition WITH a couple issues. I purchased this recently with the intention to sell it and am by no means an expert when it comes to tube amps. I powered it on and all the tubes on the top lit up (see pics), but I could never get the 2 green cats eyes tubes to light up. From what I understand they are for aesthetics only and not nearly as expensive to replace - that assumes the issue is the tubes. As for the other tubes, I have no way of knowing how many hours they have been in use. When I first took the amp out of the box, I noticed a rattling sound from inside...which is why I took the bottom off. I figured Id take pics since I was already in there. The rattling sound came from the small piece of metal that I think is the quick release for the speaker(?) wire output on the back of the unit - I have no idea how it ended up inside the metal housing. I will send that loose piece (see pics) with the amp. I connected a receiver & some speakers to the amp and the playthrough sounded smooth - no static or anything like that. I have not done any tinkering or working on this unit other than to find & remove the rattling piece out of the housing and give it a good cleaning. I totally get that it is often way more work to undo someones fixes than to just deal with issues. So to recap (no pun intended), the 2 issues I have found are the cats eyes tubes and the quick release button....and, I guess the lack of knowledge about hours on the current tubes. It will come in its original box, but the top protection piece (cardboard?) is missing. I will ship it well protected and double boxed. The glass tubes are all wrapped & numbered from where they came from (dont know if that matters). Used Cary Audio Rocket 88 Tube Amplifier. Comes with like new PSVANE MKII series quad matched KT88 tubes less than 100 hours on them. Like new less than 100 hrs EL 84 Gold Lion. Like new less than 100 hrs 6922 tubes NOS Amperex Gold pin. Recently replaced 1629 Green Eye Indicator tubes less than 100 hrs. This tube amp has served me well. Quite impressed with the range of music this amp could serve. I listen to motown oldies, jazz, melodic death metal, and classical. Didnt do quite so well with the classical. I was utilizing a Mcintosh C41 with a SMSL SU9 and a technics MKII SL1200. In my opinion this amp does very well with digital peripherals. So so with the analog. The cosmetic condition I would rate would be good. The stickers are faded. Had 1 resistor gone bad and replaced. Please email if you have any questions or need more photos.

Cary Audio CAD-808 | Rocket 88R tube amplifier NOTES about the “R” Version: The “R” version is the last iteration of this amplifier and benefits from increased input sensitivity so that it can be driven by a wider range of sources (1.2 volts for specified output vs. 3 volts). The “R” version is identified by the face plate “R version” and by the 12BZ7 tubes on the input stage. The output power is also increased in the R version. Prior versions of this amp use a 6922 as the input tube and output is stated at 20W/ 40W. The “R” version delivers 30W Class-A in triode mode and 60W in ultra linear mode. The input tubes can also be changed to 12AX7 and 12AU7 if you wish to reduce the input sensitivity. The Cinema 1 is the Cary Cinema product lines' equivalent to the CAD 500 MB’s from our Cary Classic product line. We would like to share the background story of how these powerful solid state amplifiers became a part of Cary Audio Design. Greetings to all of you! I would like to tell you the story on how the mono bloc solid state power amplifiers called the 500 MB came about. The 500 MB’s are a pair of discrete, true balanced 500 watt amplifiers. In fact, these music powerhouses will yield 1,000 watts at a 4 ohm load. What, solid state from the triode tube crazed Dennis Had, some may ask? If someone had asked me 16 years ago when I started Cary Audio, ‘Are you going to build high power transistor amplifiers?’ My response would have been almost in the form of a lecture about how high power amplifiers corrupt. If the first watt is no good than why would you want 499 more of them? Oh, the self-righteous 'tube-o-phile' in me would have kept you listening all night to my design philosophies. Well, if I may, I would like to explain how this high power craze came about. Or how I became corrupted by high current, wide bandwidth, SOLID STATE power amplifiers... About six years ago, Gregg Dunn, our Cary Audio sales manager joined the company. Although he loved tubes in audio he felt we needed to seriously enter the home theater market place. Gregg convinced Billy and I that with our reputation for having the best sounding two channel tube gear, we could design and become the best in multi-channel solid state amplifiers. Within about six months I completed the CAD 500T, a five channel Cary Cinema amplifier. It weighed in at 168 pounds, measured over two and a half feet deep and contained five individual monster EI core power transformers. The CAD 500T was constructed of all machined aluminum. The June 1999 issue of Home Theater Magazine featured our new monster amp on the front cover along with a glowing review. We were in the home theater arena. Well, not exactly, the amplifier was sooo heavy, sooo large and expensive (30” x 19” x 14”, $8,000) no one wanted to lift it. We sold a couple dozen and I was back to the drawing board. Two years later I completed the sleek, slimmed down, five channel Cinema 5 power amplifier. The Cinema 5 became the lead product of our new Cary Cinema line of products. We received both a 2003 Editor’s Choice award from The Absolute Sound magazine and a Multi-channel Amplifier of the Year Award from The Perfect Vision magazine! It repeated as a Best Buy Award from both of those prestigious magazines in 2004 and has repeated for 2005! The Cinema 5 continues to receive product of the year awards around the world. It is now the reference multi-channel power amplifier for Peter Moncrieff of Wide Screen Review magazine and it unseated a very famous foreign made $11,000 multi-channel power amplifier in the process. Did we mention that the CINEMA 5 is made in North Carolina? Next came the seven by 100 watts per channel model Cinema 7 power amplifier. We have just won the Home Theater magazine, 2005 Rave Award for the Best Amplifier (Cinema 7) under $3000. The enthusiast press and the customers are all singing the sonic merits of the Cary Audio Design solid state amplifiers. It was time for some SERIOUS two channel stereo action with this design. Once again, Gregg came to me with an idea. I can still hear him.... “High power, full bandwidth and low distortion in a mono amp package”. He had this wild look in his eye as he insisted that we needed a 500 watt mono amplifier. Oh, it also had to play at 1,000 watts into 4 ohms. Since Gregg has had some serious home run ideas in the past, I thought OK, let me do some basic design work.
