Once again, the specs were impressive. The SLP-03 is not an exercise in audio minimalism. All audio path signals are amplified through 12AU7 vacuum tubes in a Class A zero-feedback circuit. Its circuit is a fully balanced design with four analog gain stages: Two separate gain stages are used for each of the two channels. One gain stage amplifies the positive phase and the other gain stage amplifies the negative phase. The two stages for each channel represent the four active line circuits. The Cary Audio Xciter DAC has received several on-line good reviews including at Hometheaterreview (dot) com; a Head-fi (dot) com member and a Stereophile review which notes how the Xciter is a good match up with the Cary Audio MS-1 Server (which is not for sale under this auction). As a DAC, the seller used the Xciter to connect to digital music sources in two ways: running a SP/DIF cable from the Cary DAC digital source section to a CD player. Seller also ran a USB cable from the digital source section of the DAC to a computer which is equipped to receive a USB connection. Music heard via the USB connection by seller was to a computer that provided on line access to music sources, e.g., you tube videos, Tidal, Qobuz, some of which require membership. For music to be heard, the seller connected the Cary DAC to a Yamaha receiver via the analog left/right outputs on the rear of the DAC. Seller listened to music by headphones via the Yamaha receiver headphone jack or through external speakers connected to the receiver through left/right speaker jacks on the rear of the Yamaha receiver. Cary Audio DAC-200ts. It is working. One of the antena in the back broke but doesnt affect any thing. All in one unit with bluetooth and various input/output. The tube output is a bit noisy for me so it may need new tubes.

Cary Audio 303/200 CD/HDCD player. Used but good working order, I was using analog outputs and found no issues. I did no test other outputs. Some scratches but nothing major. No remote and no original packaging. Selling as is, no returns.

This eBay listing is for ONE Cary Audio CAD-808 Rocket 88 Tube Amplifier. Used and in excellent working and cosmetic condition. I bought this brand new from Cary in 2003 and it until now has been in storage for the past 10 years. The only blemish I can find is a super small spot of discoloration on the Cary label which is on the power transformer. This amp puts out 20 watts per channel in Triode mode / 40 watts per channel in Ultralinear. I sent it to Cary in 2005 and had it upgraded to utilize the 12BZ7 tubes instead of the 6922 tubes. As for the output tubes....You can use the EL-34, 6L6, 6550, KT-66, KT-77, KT-88 or KT-90 flavors. The two 1629 Green Eye tubes on the front plate are mesmerizing to watch, They display the power output. The 12BZ7s come with silicone dampers installed. I am going to drop this amp off at Mojotronix for a once-over where it will get a thorough check-up (Pots, Jacks, Contacts, Tube sockets cleaned, Caps checked, Tubes checked, Confirm all components working at spec, Bias the output tubes). I am having this service performed because the amp has sat idle for the past decade AND I want to assure the next owner years of trouble free operation.
