Cary Tube Audio Amplifier CAD 808 Rocket 88 Used Vintage. Being sold as part of an estate sale. This is working. Ive tested it myself. Probably the nicest sounding amplifier Ive ever had access to. Theres some caveats, however. While the piece is completely functional, the previous owner seems to have broken the small insulating nub on the bottom of all the EL34 tubes included. He was, however, kind enough to indicate with marker the front of each of these tubes so that they could be safely inserted by the operator without malfunction. And while they still function in this state, I would advise the purchaser to replace them at the first opportunity. Update 3/13/24I checked the item at the behest of a customer and unbeknownst to me the head of an audio lead had been left in the bias jack. I had mistakenly assumed this was a grounding lead. Removed, both channels are running loud and clear. When I get a chance, Ill try to update the photos. The front lights also fully illuminate, which I had neglected to mention before. This will ship fully insured as part of the cost of the piece.
