This ***WORKING*** Carver SD/A-450 CD player (with remote and owners manual) is in excellent condition and is a top-of-the-line audio component that will elevate your listening experience. The SD/A-450 has multiple audio output options, including digital coaxial RCA and stereo L/R RCA. It employs triple-beam laser scanning, full remote control, random play, and a Bitstream Conversion Linear Single Bit D/A Converter. Carvers version of their Digital Time Lens circuit called Soft EQ sets the SD/A-450 apart from other CD Players by providing an extremely sophisticated circuit which prevents the loss of sonic front-to-back depth imaging, as well as the excessive brightness sometimes associated with compact disc recordings. How and when you use it depends on your choice of discs, your type of speakers, and your own musical taste. This package includes a remote control and the owners manual for easy operation. Its rare to find a CD player with a tube output section. If you do a deep dive on this in the forums and audio reviews, like most outlier technologies, you will find some who LOVE it and some who dont. What I can say is this player to my ears sounds quite lush and detailed. Im a tube guy anyway, so perhaps Im just partial to the sound. If you havent heard a tube CD player and would like to, youre in luck. All functions on this player and remote work, however, something about the Carver CD technology of the early 90s makes them somewhat to very unstable with more modern CDs. If your collection is made up primarily of older CDs, from the 90s and before, you should be fine. This particular model has a reputation for being a little skittish, and Ive found this one to be just that.....the CDs it likes, it seems to be ROCK solid; but the ones it doesnt, well....some are frankly unplayable. Maybe theres a magic hack where you replace a tiny transformer or capacitor somewhere that totally stabilizes it for all discs.... Would be worth the effort to figure out! Please look at the pictures and video for important descriptive info. You get the player and the remote with this auction. CD player in excellent cosmetic condition and plays great. Only issue is when carousel spins to select disc it seems louder than it should be but still works fine. Maybe can be lubricated somehow, not sure what the issue is. All functions related to CD play work great including the soft EQ function. This is not working perfectly. Let me explain what is working and what is not. I was able to play discs on 123 and 5. Playing on 4 position resulted in a lot of skipping. On all playback, you can only hear music mostly out of the left channel. There’s barely anything coming out of the right channel. I experienced the same thing in using headphones. So something about the right channel playback is not working. The soft EQ feature works. Playing a disc while opening the disc array works for the most part. However, sometimes it’ll skip slightly while it’s opening or closing. I do not have a remote control for this.

Carver CD player for parts, as-is. The player does power on. When you press the open button to load a CD, the drawer will not open; with the cover off I nudged the drawer from the back and after the first little bit the drawer will continue to open the rest of the way. The drawer does close by itself when I press the button. Sometimes when I load a CD, the player does not recognize it and refuses to play. Other times, it will play but sometimes skips. The buttons on the front seem to work when playing. Physically, the player looks pretty good.
