The deck was serviced by a technician. He replaced some capacitors but unfortunately the laser is bad on it. It played a cd shortly and started to skip and quit reading cds. I managed to take a picture for the listing when it was playing. The mechanism works fine, 2 belts replaced. The display is fine( some dust). Cosmetically in very acceptable condition with scratches as pictured. If youd find a laser pickup from a Carver DTL (100, 200 etc) or Yamaha CD-X2 youd have a nice vintage player. Carver SD/A-490t Vacuum Tube Reference CD player with original remote and owners manual. Condition is Very Good. Please note:- transport rubber belt was replaced, transport was cleaned and lubricated;- everything works as it should, it played every CD I tried without any issues and never skipped;- remote control had leaky batteries in it, but it was disassembled, cleaned and fully tested;- screen and all of the buttons on the unit work perfectly;- not in perfect shape visually but all of the issues are minor: minor scratches on the transport cover, two white marks on the Eject button, a scratch near the back of the top cover (please see photos).
