I am the original owner of this Bryston SP2. I sent it off in 2010 to have it upgraded from an SP1 to an SP2. It was just received back from Bryston yesterday fully serviced and tested. I hooked it up this evening (01Nov2024) to take the video of it. Everything about it is in beautiful and pristine condition. If you want an AS NEW Bryston SP2 this is it. I just went with an anthem because I wanted to add more surround speakers and since the SP2 only supports 5.1 that was not an option. The music fidelity is outstanding so if you want a great pre-amp for music reproduction the by-pass function on this works wonders.

This Bryston SP3 PreAmplifier Processor is not working properly / fully. It does power up and will pass audio correctly but the front panel display doesn’t work, the remote doesn’t work, and the unit is very sluggish/slow to respond to button presses on the front panel. No parameters can be changed since the front panel display is inoperative. I don’t know if it will pass video. Sold VERY strictly as non-working for parts or repair and absolutely no returns for any reason, so please bid accordingly. Setting the opening bid at a penny! Good luck.

This preamp has really wonderful sounding 2channel bypass mode that employs the same circuitry as the Bryston stand alone preamps. A nice way to save money on great sound. The remote is amazing as well! The unit was returned to Vermont in 2020 for service, replacing the display, and the toggle power switch. They made sure it was back in new condition for the next 20 years. I have not used the other surround modes on the unit, but you can find the specs and manual online.
