That shows how extremly well built, how solid they are. I really love their sound; wide open with pinpoint positioning of sounds (imaging). The VR-M 60s are slightly bigger with a deeper bass than their little brothers. They sound much more like floor-standing speakers than a compact, bookshelf sized cabinet. The rock-solid cabinet construction gives you Tight, exciting Bass! Many of the VR-M 50s and VR-M60s sold on eBay have delicate Lynfield tweeters that have been damaged or bent. Sometimes you can see the damage in the photos, sometimes not. The seller may or may not disclose that damage, because they still make sound, even when theyre damaged. However! A damaged Lynfield tweeter will not give you the benefit of what makes these speakers so special! The MAGIC of these tweeters is an uncanny ability to throw a wide field of sound AND to place points of music in a precise postiion between AND beyond the speakers; so you get the sensation that you are in the studio, or at the concert; instead of standing outside, listening through 2 windows to the performance, with very little between those two windows. Here is a spledid pair of Boston Acoustics VR-M60 s bookshelf speaker in a gorgeous real wood Cherry veneer. They sound great! They are in excellent shape! I love the sound of these speakers; rich. deep, and detailed, with a WIDE soundstage and PIN POINT focus on instruments and voices between speaker cabinets! I have thoroughly enjoyed these rich musical speakers. Although the brand name Boston Acoustics remains on the market, speakers like these VR-M60 speakers will never come around agaIn! I am getting rid of some my Hi Fi gear to make room for me. Here is a Very Nice pair of Boston Acoustics VR-M 60 High Fidelity bookshelf speakers. They have most recently seen service in my bedroom stereo system. They sound great! I must point out the there is a slight crease in one of the Lynfield Tweeters. I never noticed it; and never noticed any degradation in the awesome sound. As I was wiping them off for the photos, I noticed the crease. I cant see it in the picture, but I assure you it is there. You can see a few dings in the corners of the speakers in the photos. Instead od the Boston Acoustics jumper bands for the speaker connections, I have substituted Monster Cable Flat Wire audiophile speaker wire jumpers for normal use. If you decide to Bi-Amp these speakers, simply disconnect the jumpers. I can walk you through the process if you have questions.Bid accordingly.I love the sound of these speakers; rich. deep, and detailed; but I decided to downsize to my VR-M50s instead.
