These speakers are in great working and cosmetic condition. The speakers have had the foam surrounds replaced, every single one. The equalizer has had the capacitors replaced and various transistors. A recapping kit was purchased off of eBay and administered by a professional. It is a not only a fully functional Bose 901 Series III set-up, but it is as close to new as it can be! Their audio lives were just reset with the refoaming and recapping. There are three hooks in each speaker (equaling six total) for hanging purposes. And the only known discrepancy is a small snag in one of the speaker grills, please see the photos. Local pick up is encouraged, but they will be shipped with care and in separate boxes. Not sure if the equalizer works or not- when I plug it in, sometimes the power switch flickers orange, but it never stays on. Nevertheless, even though the speakers say they need to be used with the equalizer, I simply just hooked up the two speakers to my stereo receiver, and the sound is very decent. Some say the speakers dont sound good without the equalizer, but I disagree. The sound is warm, robust, with good resolution to my ears. Cosmetically they are in pretty good shape for speakers that are nearly 50 years old- (they were manufactured in the mid-70s). Theres a couple watermarks and spots where some of the woodgrain finish has worn off, as seen in the pics, but overall Id rate the cosmetic quality a 7/10. Due to the weight, the Bose speakers will be shipped in 2 separate boxes, one for left and one for right, with the equalizer being included with one of the speakers. If you like vintage audio equipment, these speakers will make v an excellent addition to your audio setup.
