Description
Physical condition - excellent, almost no imperfections. Electrical condition - fast forward and rewind work but are sluggish. Play does work but sometimes stops unexpectedly. Probably needs new belts. Sold as is. I have recently acquired a very large collection of high-end audio from a world renowned collector and restoration specialist. I will be listing a part of it over the next week and then a larger part within a month. Please keep an eye on my listings for many great opportunities to find scarce pieces.

Description
Nakamichi CR 7A - Discrete 3 Head Cassette RecorderRM 7C - Wireless Remote Gear Drive /Serviced/Calibrated using Nakamichi Alignment Tapes/ Electronic Test Equipment /All Power Supply Capacitor replaced with Nichicon Caps FeaturesDual Capstan ( Direct Drive Motor with Belt) 3 Discrete Head with Pressure Pad lifterType I , II and IV (Metal) tape compatible Dolby B/C noise Reduction Real Time Elapsed / Remaining Time display - selectable 60 dB Fluorescent VU display with Peak indicator MPX/ Subsonic Filter Wireless Remote Control including Azimuth Adjustment for Play Head Manual Play Head Azimuth Adjustment Auto Calibration for Tape Record Level/bias/Azimuth setting for any type of Tape Manual Override for all these selections Service done on this machine The Machine came to my possession as non Working Machine with idler tire for Spool Motor. The reason for not working is due to belts as well as DD Capstan Motor needed Cleaning and lubrication. Since I notice that any CR 7A that was not recently serviced and calibrated required complete Overall and re calibration including AD Converter. And Power Supply Capacitors fail in both CR 7A and CR 5A, i generally prefer replacing to avoid future failures. This machine required clean up of the Transport after complete dismantling, Belts change and alignment with Calibration of Meter/Playback/Record as well as Analog to Digital Converter adjustments were done. Additionally it is undergoing following work after verifying no repairs are not necessary, additional work ( replacing Capacitors) is performed for preventing Electronic failures and better quality of Sound. 1. Spool Drive was replaced with Gear Drive. This work is bit of expensive and necessary for any user to avoid once in two year replacing the idler tire. For High End Cassette Recorder ( CR 7A is one of the top three or four Cassette Decks ever produced). 2. Replacement of all Electrolytic Capacitors in the Power Supply including filter capacitors in Play/Record / Dolby NR Circuits3. Special Capacitor additions for lower noise and better Power Supply Filtering4. AD converter Calibrations 5. Complete Bias Record Calibrations ( notice the steps listed in the Service Manual)6. Extensive play / record play testing for minimum a week including continuous play for 24 hours. Nakamichi Cassette Recorder work requires Nakamichi Gauges/ Alignment Cassettes along with High Bandwidth DMM/ Nakamichi T100 analyzer. I also use Audio Precision for checking the Record Play bandwidth Since this Recorder now has the Gear Drive for Spool Drive it is a great advantage - not requiring Idler Tire changes every 2 years or so. Finally the Deck comes with Original Wireless RM 7C remote control for Arm chair remote to do everything including Play head azimuth control The cosmetic condition is very good - considering over 34 year lifeThe international shipping Cost depends on the Country and the rate shown is not correct. If you are a bidder from other than US 48 states please check with me for correct shipping cost. Also note Ebay shipping restricts available insurance to 1000$ only. However I spend effort, material and time in packing it I will ensure safe arrival to any international destination provided USPS allows. So please check with me for correct shipping rate and options. Please check my feed back as i have sold many Nakamichi Recorders over the past decade Always ask questions before bidding to ensure proper communication
