Unit powers on. All buttons illuminate. Everything seems to work fine except the gear that spins the cassette tape does not spin. If you hit play or fastforward rewind, etc, the unit seems to try for a moment and then jumps to stop/pause automatically. I have no idea if this is an easy fix and the unit can be repaired easily? I do not know the unit very well. The player is in excellent cosmetic condition. Very little wear or scuffs. See pictures. Remote not included. Does not come with the original box, but I will make sure to package the unit with great care This Nakamichi cassette player and recorder is a top-of-the-line model with a variety of features and functions. Has original invoice and payment receipt. I purchased this from the home of the original owner. 1 owner since new It powers up and everything seems to function properly including the remote. I am not familiar with home audio so please understand that I do not know how to properly test this. It’s in fantastic shape but I make no guarantees. When I put a tape in it will rewind and fast forward but when I press play it begins to turn then stops. Not sure if it’s my tape or the settings on the unit. All offers are considered. Enhance your audio experience with the Nakamichi 3 Head CR 7A cassette deck. This black beauty is equipped with features like auto tape sensing, gear drive for spool motor and direct drive that make it a cassette player and recorder with a difference. The wireless infra-red remote connectivity adds to the convenience of the user. The cassette deck comes with a pressure pad lifter and a direct drive capstan motor that ensure superior sound quality. The real-time elapsed/remaining display gives the user an accurate idea of the time remaining on the cassette tape. The auto-calibrate bias/level/azimuth and 60dB wide fluorescent display are some of the other outstanding features of this Nakamichi cassette deck.

Nakamichi CR 7A - Discrete 3 Head Cassette Recorder with Automatic Record level/bias CalibrationManual ( also remotely) Play Head azimuth adjusting recorder.Gear Drive for Spools - unlike many listed have only idler DriveDirect Drive for Capstans and Dual Pressure Pad-less - reason for 10000 Hours life on the Play/record heads Late Production Model (Year 1987) Pictures speak for the condition Gear Drive /Serviced / Calibrated using Nakamichi Alignment Tapes/ Tools Cam Motor was replaced with new one Power Supply Capacitors were replaced with new Nichicon Caps Buy it now and a get a RM7C wireless remote free with this item. In case of Offers through Best Offer, this listing is for CR 7A with printed user manual only. So if you do not want the RM 7C you can offer your best offer. Please go through the Ebay Feedback on various Nakamichi Cassette recorders as well as other items that I sold ( many of them CR 7A) If you are keen on brand new unused CR 7A with box/Remote/User Manuals please contact me First - this Recorder is not just working but working correctly as it should ( I keep seeing listing stating as working Deck without any explanation?) CR 7A needs complete adjustment using special Electronic tool for Correct Bias for each type of Tape / DA converter adjustment and Azimuth adjust knob alignment. There are close to 25 steps to align this deck to make it work as it should including each tape type record replay response for 400Hz/15 Khz Considering the Digital Multi Meter should have close to 200 Khz response ( not just any DMM)I use 2 Fluke 867B along with VTVM having still higher bandwidth. Using the Play head azimuth, Record head current for each tape type as well as Azimuth / track alignment needed to set it up for Recording alignment. If these were done correctly along with internal Pot adjustment, Autocalibration will result in Precise Response Since I keep seeing certain Electrolytic Caps in Power Supply failing in CR 7A/5A - These were replaced along with other service Finally I only offer Deck with new Belts and checking record replay response Finally - it will come with brand new Maxell XL II Tape - just calibrated and sample recording as reference to the buyer. A printed user manual will be sent for ease of operating this equipment. This will be packed with excessive care to get it to the buyer as in the picture. If you like to ask questions, please do without hesitation - you will get a response I reserve the right to cancel this listing anytime
