Rare Vintage 2007 Audiophile Denon S-52 Tabletop Radio CD This is my Denon S-52 audiophile, high-end shelf tabletop radio system that is similar to a Bose Wave Radio and the Polk I-Sonic. This unit works properly. It does not have the remote, but cheap remotes for it are available on eBay. I used a Harmony remote to control it. So the deal with these is that they were praised for their sound, radio, and CD capabilities when they were released in 2007. However, the internet radio functions and the interface were clunky, especially for a unit that cost $500 back then, which is $761 today! I could get some of the internet radio channels to work, but its kind of arduous and not intuitive. And many of the old pre-programmed channels are no longer online. This is a heavy, well-built unit that wasnt just some cheapo radio. Again, it was $500 in 2007. This thing was built with quality. Having said all that, its a cool radio for $100. Its not a cool radio for $761. Theres a scratch across the plastic face that you dont really notice when the unit is on. There is also some paint loss on the top from setting stuff on top of it. My last photo captures these wear areas and makes then look worse than they actually are. Again, cosmetic wear thats not as obvious when indoors on a shelf and not outside in the sun as in my last photo. Please message me if you have any questions! Aiwa A70 Cassette Deck acquired from the family of the original owner. I gave this unit a quick test and unfortunately it doesnt work. The cassette door doesnt open when the open / close button is pressed. Unit powers up, thats as good as it gets. Cosmetically, the original plastic covering was still on the case.
