Up for sale I have this high quality Berning TF-10 audio preamp. I tested this preamp, and I was able to get sound out of both channels. I did notice that while adjusting both the LEVEL and the BALANCE knobs there was a static kind of noise while turning the knob. I believe these knobs need to be cleaned with contact cleaner. Also I am not sure why but both the MONITOR and TAPE COPY knobs are not turning. I dont know if there is something that you need to do to get these to turn or if they are stuck. I was able to test AUX 1 and AUX 2 and TUNER and I was able to get sound out of all of those. I also tested PHONO 1, PHONO 2, and PHONO 3 and I was able to get sound out of all of these. I was not able to test TAPE 1 and TAPE 2 because the MONITOR knob wont turn. Please note I do not have the original cord. I had to use a house extension like plug to plug it in. When you first power it on, both the power and mute light come on. After about 1 minute the mute light goes out, and there is sound. It is in good condition, but there is some wear from stacking. I did notice that a couple screws for the top cover are missing. I dont know if it has ever been serviced. I bought it at an estate sale. Please send me a message with any questions. Kimber Kable 8TC Audiophile Speaker Cable - 2.5m / 8ft, 3 cables, PM33 (5/16) terminations Listed here are three (3) Kimber 8TC speaker cables, each measuring 2.5m (approx. 8 2) in length. These were in use for just a few months in my main system, and are still in excellent condition, both cosmetically and functionally. These are fantastically well-engineered audiophile speaker interconnects, made of extremely high quality materials and high purity OFE copper. These represent a great addition to any high end audio system. As shown in the photos, these will come with the original soft case they were shipped in. The terminations of these wires use PostMaster 33 spades. They measure 5/16 on the inside, and 17/32 on the outside (see the photos.) Make sure the posts on your amplifier and speakers can accommodate these connections; they are larger than the typical 1/4 spade. They fit very snugly on my Anthem amplifier, and while you will most likely be okay hooking them up with a dedicated power amplifier, you should still do some research to confirm that. Here is my Denon DRA-835R from the 90s and retailed for $749 at the time and was next to the top-of-the-line 1035R that retailed for $1000 and there is a great review on Stereophile that is very informative. I have had many stereo receivers over the last 35 yrs. and this Denon is the best of all of them hands down but at $750 it was more expensive than the Yamaha,H/K that come to mind. Requiring nearly 6 amps this is a powerhouse amp and has the best FM reception i have found. The Pre-out button is also far better than jumper pins. The pre-out is always hot and can be configured in many ways with the flip of the switch. I have cleaned the controls with De-Oxit fader lube which isnt as harsh as the full strength. I purchased this beauty several months back and i also found a remote for the TOTL 1035R that functions the critical volume etc. The Denon RC-770 will come with this 835R. The faceplate looks great and there are only a few very minor scratches on the case and it works perfectly. I purchased this to keep but things happen so i must let her go unfortunately. This is a great find by the Jawas. Little bugger have a nose for HiFi. This is the ES line from the early 90s, and Japanese made (not China like modern Sony). These came out during the hay day of CDs, when all the manufacturers were out to impress. This beauty is such an example. This is a really nice unit if you are getting back into CDs or if you just want a 5 disc to throw on random for the evening festivities. Comes with Sony remote (though cant verify this is the exact OEM Remote). Remote works for all play related functions including selecting discs. The antenna is in good condition with some cosmetic marks. (Please see the pictures for a closer look at the cosmetic condition). The only piece that has damage is the battery cover. It is made of metal, and the area where it attaches has some broken plastic pieces. It still fits and can easily be taped in place. Everything else is good with no cracked or broken plastic. The antenna takes two 9V batteries, and the test LED lights up when pressed. The cable and plug are in great shape. The top part is solid and rotates smoothly up to almost 180.
