Here is a relatively rare example of the early production model with 600 Ohm Drivers, which are in my view the best in the series.With a relatively low sensitivity of 94Db at 1mW, they will give their Best with a Good, Powerful Desktop Amp, as they require a generous Voltage swing and good Current capability.Given what they need, these will rival or even surpass many modern designs. They are capable of impressive Speed,Transparency and Soundstaging, just shy of their big brothers HD 540 I/II or HD 560 I/II. Simply put, they will offer over 90% of the the latters performance in those areas, and perhaps even better in others. In fact, I found them far preferable to the famous HD 600/650 line.
