Relisting because of a non-paying buyer. I have decided to sell my Sony CDP-X707ES. It was one of the last great Sony ES CD players made. Built to the hilt and probably weighs more than many preamps. It hasn’t seen much action for the last 5 years. And only occasional use because I had so many CD players which I have sold (but kept this unit). Amongst which are Proceed 2 box (transport and DAC), Krell CD-DSP, a couple of Marantz CD-94s, Philips CD-80, CAL Tempest II Special Edition, Sony CDP-X7ES and others I can’t remember. This unit (laser) should have plenty of life left as I have mentioned, it got some rotation every now and again because I had so many other players. It was made around the pinnacle of Sony’s top ES CD players and yes, it’s made in Japan. Everything about it exudes quality. The drawer belt was replaced by my tech about 5 years ago but isn’t working very well again (because of lack of use). The drawer will occasionally need a little help to close. It will probably work more consistently once put into regular use. Still plays and sounds beautifully. I don’t have the original remote but has a comparable Sony remote that will operate the basic functions. I’m sure you can get a replacement on eBay. I hardly ever use the programming features anyway. The player also has a variable out which will allow you to connect directly to an amplifier if this is the only source you are using. It also has balanced (XLR) out if you should choose to go that route. Also has optical and coax out if you wish to use an outboard DAC (it does already have an excellent built in DAC). It’s in beautiful well preserved condition. Champagne gold finish with wood side panels. Also plays CD-Rs without any problems. I don’t want to rate it mint in case I missed something so I’ll say excellent or near mint. It has always been housed in my Salamander Synergy cabinet. Very nice turntable that needs a new motor ($315 at Stereo Unlimited). The motor does spin, but about half the time you turn it on, it starts spinning in the wrong direction. Sounds great though. There is one scuff on the wood at front left (shown) and a few minor scuffs on the dustcover. New drive belt. This is a good chance to get into a good turntable at an affordable price. I apologize but Im not willing to ship this unit. Thanks for looking!

This unit seems to only power on when you first plug it in. It will let you try it off through the power button but the power button for some reason won’t turn it back on. Have to unplug it and plug it back up. Have not tested it to see if plays cds. Selling as is for parts.
