Offered here is a beautiful example of one of my all-time favorite solid state line stages, the Audio Research LS-3. This is the rarer LS-3B variant featuring balanced outs. The only version more elusive is the unicorn LS-3BR (with remote) that I sold a few years ago.Ive owned about half a dozen LS-3/B/BRs (and as many Quicksilver Full Function preamps!) during my time in the hobby. This particular model was used in my little setup to test gear prior to offering them for sale. Its now time for it to go to a new home.Operationally, the preamp works flawlessly. There is no shortage of positive reviews about the piece, especially when one uses the DIRECT function. Cosmetically, I think its a 7.6/10.0, exclusively due to two minor scrapes on the top edge of the faceplate (please review photos).Being sold with the original manual and warranty card, the appropriate packing material and inner and outer boxes.Selling price includes UPS Ground shipping (which can range anywhere from $44 for the West Coast, all the way to $90 to the East Coast). This listing is for an Audio Research LS-7 Stereo Line Preamplifier. I inhertied this unit from a family member who was an audiophile. I know next to nothing about this kind of equipment and have no idea if it works or not. I plugged it in and it turned on and the green front panel light came on. It has been in storage for sometime and may need repair or adjustment to be in good operating condition. Cosmetically it looks good and the internals look good and unfooled around with. I have no idea what this unit is supposed to do when connected in a system and with that in mind is being sold as is with no warranty. EBay suggests this item has a median sales figure of around $1400, I have priced much lower than that as I am unsure of condition and have no means to test it. I do know the original owner loved this stuff and bought everything he owned brand new, not second hand.
