A wonderful power amplifier with technical support and a set of new Sovtek 6550 WE tubes worth approximately €650. The tubes are purchased as two paired squares. Dieses Endstufe ist mit 120 Watt an 8 und an 4 Ohm ein wunderschönes Röhren-„Monster“. Für mich die schönste Endstufe von Audio Research, da man die Röhren offen sehen kann (nix für Kinder!). Die 8 KT120 Röhren sind allesamt relativ neu und natürlich selektiert. Die gespielte Zeit liegt zwischen 400 und 450 Stunden. Das Gerät wurde für 1100 € (!) bei den Hifi-Profis Frankfurt gewartet (ohne die neuen KT120 Röhren im Wert von weiteren 800 Euro, die hinzukommen) und technisch auf einen exzellenten Stand gebracht. Was genau gemacht wurde, können Sie gerne am Telefon mit dem Techniker besprechen. Ich kann das als Laie nicht alles erklären. Sie bekommen also einen Röhren-Amp im exzellenten Zustand. Eine Abholung in der Nähe von Frankfurt mit Probehören wäre mir sowieso am liebsten. Dann wissen Sie, dass der Verstärker jeden Cent wert ist. Ich bin der Zweitbesitzer. Bitte vergleichen Sie dieses Gerät preislich nicht mit irgendwelchen runtergeschrubbten Exemplaren. Ich besitze die Originalverpackung und einen weiteren Satz von acht 6550C-Röhren, die Sie dazu bekommen. Wie lange diese gespielt haben, weiß ich nicht, da der ursprüngliche Besitzer verstorben ist. Das Gerät war lange Zeit außer Betrieb und wurde dann vom Sohn verkauft und von mir beziehungsweise den Hifi-Profis aufwändig gewartet und mit 8 neuen Röhren und vier weiteren kleinen neu bestückt. Die 6550-er klangen aber auch sehr gut und sind wohl noch gut. Das Gerät ist wahrscheinlich von 2009. Zu der Zeit hat es 7500 € gekostet. Heute wären es bei dem Materialeinsatz sehr deutlich über 10.000 (überlegen Sie mal, was 2009 ein Brot gekostet hat). Der Techniker meinte, das sei noch die echte gute Audio Research Qualität der Ingenieure bevor die Konzern-BWL-er das Ruder übernommen haben und gespart wurde, um den Gewinn zu maximieren. Power supply 230W, good lamps on board:(Phillips 3 pcs - on the preamp part, and Amperex on the phono stage) + two sets of spare ones (Amperex Bugle Boy, + Electro Harmonix) Great phono stage! In my hands since 2014, in the country house system: auditions are rare, on holidays. Fully working, in good working order, no rustling, no creaking, etc. I took it to a repairman a couple of times for preventative maintenance - just in case, nothing broke, I did it for the sake of preventive maintenance, since I take pretty good care of my equipment. Reason for selling - I would like to switch to a fully balanced connection scheme.

I am selling my beloved Audio Research equipment as I have no longer any use for it in my new home. I am selling both the D-115 Stereo Power Amp and an SP9 Preamp, but this auction is ONLY for the D-115 Power Amplifier. It has been single owner since being purchased new decades ago, in a smoke-free home and well cared for. It has not seen much use or any maintenance in a while, but I powered it on and enjoyed it one last time before listing to ensure it works well, and to me it sounds as good as the day I bought it. It will come with as much of the original documentation/manuals as I can find - I think I have the original purchase order, too, if interested. I will not ship this, so local pickup only.
