When I was first introduced to the Ayre DX5, I was pretty much an Oppo and McIntosh fan and had been for years...I was familiar with Ayre and their reputation and knew through trade shows and friends who were dealers, that they were as passionate and committed as any A/V company in business.Anyone who engineers and builds a $10,000 transport, generally knows what theyre doing and they always do it in their own way... Ayre continues to stay away from the fringe and push the envelope of whats possible in design and execution.This example of the remarkable DX-5 is certainly the best weve ever seen come up for sale (there may have been others, Ive just not seen them) It belonged to a dear friend and client and I was involved in the setup, so I can attest to the way its been used and the fact that it has never moved since I set it up. It is perfect in every way, right down to the original remote and manual as well as the original box and packing materials.If youre not familiar with this company or with this specific model, please do yourself a favor and spend some time on-line with the reviews. youre not likely going to find a better example anywhere in this condition and with so few hours on it.
