Audio Alchemy Digital Decoding Engine V3.0 + XDP Power Station + RW-1 RemoteMultibit sound quality - AD1862N DAC chips From my personal equipment collection. This DAC has been in my headphone rig for several months getting regular use. The XDP Power Station has the same specifications as the Power Station 4 and works fine. The DDE V3.0 has the optional specially programmed Intel 87C51 micro-controller installed. This allows remote volume control, input selection, channel balance and muting of the DAC via the RW-1 remote. The remote is not necessary to use the DAC.I am selling due to downsizing my audio equipment collection. I have another DDE 3.0 that I am now using that works fine, but does not have the optional Intel chip like the one that is listed for sale here. That is why the remote is being sold in this listing. A printed copy of the operating instructions for the DDE 3.0 and RW-1 will be included. As information, I prefer the DDE 3.0 with the XDP or PS4 power supplies versus the PS2 or PS3 units, as I find the PS2 and PS3 units to be mechanically noisy due to transformer hum.I have tested all 3 digital inputs (optical, coaxial, and I2S) and all work fine. The I2S input must be connected to a DTI device that has an I2S output. I have a DTI unit (not for sale) that the I2S connection has been tested with. I also have played HDCD discs through the DAC and the HDCD light comes on. I am including a BNC to RCA adapter to allow using a standard RCA digital coax cable. I have the internal gain control set at position 1 for an output of 1.14 V RMS. There are 3 other settings that can be used by changing the shorting plugs to different jumper positions. The RW-1 remote works fine in all listed functions, as noted above. There is a small micro switch on the side of the remote that allows it to function with the DDE V3.0. Set the slide switch (on the right side of the RW-1) to position 3; all the way back, towards the battery end of the remote. The RW-1 also will control the DLC preamp, which I used to own. Will be double boxed for shipping. If you have not owned Audio Alchemy gear before, I will point out that the instructions recommend doing all cable connections to the DAC before connecting the power cable. I have followed this method with all the various Audio Alchemy gear I have owned with no issues. This DAC was one of Stereophiles Joint Budget Components of 1996.

Audio Alchemy Digital Decoding Engine v1.0 with power supplyThe chip set is the Philips SAA7274 S/PDIF receiver and decoder coupled with Philipss SAA7323 Bitstream DAC/filter chip. The S/PDIF receiver circuit is unusual in that a Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) supplies the reference Phase Lock Loop (PLL) frequency rather than the ubiquitous crystal clock generator. An additional chip next to the 7274 gets a reference voltage from the 7274 and outputs a frequency back to the decoder chip. This circuits job is to recover the clock imbedded in the incoming S/PDIF signal. This technique reportedly results in lower clock jitter than standard PLL implementations (several hundred picoseconds rather than 2–5 nanoseconds). In addition, the DDE will lock to any incoming sampling frequency between 40kHz and 50kHz.

Selling AS-IS damaged LSIM703 cabinet with only the lower mid/woofer attached.. THERE IS NO SONIC ENGINE in this speaker. The woofer plays great. There seems to be a small crack in the cone but does not affect playing good sound. (see phot) All component wiring, cables, etc. included. Also grille in new condition. Hard clip chip in rear left bottom of cabinet. Easily repaired with epoxy or polyplastomer. (See photo) See photos - Other than the grille cover nothing else is included. You are bidding on a set of gorgeous bamboo Audio Engine A5+ speakers (not wireless version ). They are used but in excellent condition. The reason I am selling is because I switched to a different speaker set simply to try something different. There is no issues with these and they work perfectly.
