Beautiful turntable in near mint condition. The dust cover may have some scratches but none too deep or prominent. The service slip shows the maintenance that was done to bring this back up to specs. So this was completely tested by trusted professionals at Alpha Tech in the St. Louis area. Note that on the back of the unit, a special cord is needed to operate the turntable. This was was purchased new and is included in the unit. This comes with everything needed to be begin playing immediately. Note that we also included the felt covering for the turntable as well. The original box is also included but we will be packing this in a larger sized box with plenty of wrapping to guard against rough handling. We offer local pickup too. Up for a NO RESERVE AUCTION is the rare Made in Scotland ARISTON Integrated Amplifier serial #000531. Although this is being sold FOR PARTS or REPAIR, I have performed a half-day of cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Heres what I did and what I discovered: When I received this unit, it was absolutely filthy as was the tape covered remote. I refer you to the BEFORE photo posted in this listing. Before testing, I...Cleaned and detailed the case. During removal of the cover, I discovered some rust on the front edges which has been treated. See photo. Cleaned and treated all RCAs, speaker outputs, headphone output, AC inlet, photo ground, balance pot, power button terminals, and fuses with DEOXIT. Removed the packing tape from the remote, disassembled it, washed it, and reassembled it. During this exercise, I discovered an old corroded 9V battery still inside which had destroyed one of the remotes snap-on terminals. The existing 9V connector was desoldered from the pcb and a new one was installed. After cleaning, I continued my investigation and bench testing. Heres what I found: The amp powers on and the remote works. After adjusting bias and DC Offset (see photos), both speaker and headphone outputs work, but there is a low level hum coming from the right speaker channel. I didnt hear any hum coming from the left channel.I was unable to test the phono input but I did test the CD, AUX, TUNER, and TAPE IN inputs. The CD input appeared to work flawlessly but when switching to the other inputs, a pop would occur and more popping when the volume was raised or lowered. You can hear this in the video posted with this listing. The power button is unreliable and needs to be replaced. The replacement (Bulgin H8553VBBG3) can be purchased from Mouser.Sale comes with original remote but does NOT include power cable. This is SOLD AS IS - FOR PARTS or REPAIR. NO RETURNS.
