Vintage Amstrad SM104 Vertical Record player/Turntable Music System & Speakers. Happy to package up and post via DPD local to the UK only. 2nd system Im selling that is fully working but not in as good a cosmetic condition. System has new belts and a diamond stylus fitted and vinyls now play beautifully. Tapes play spot on in both decks and the radio is loud and clear using the included original external aerial. There are some marks on the laminate surface which may well come off with thinners. Top right hand corner of the perspex door has had a glue repair which isnt going anywhere as per photos and the light doesnt illuminate the whole width of the radio scale, see video... The auction is for a used Amstrad SM104 Vertical Linear Record Player/Tape/Radio music system. Please read the following carefully as its the good and bad of the unit. The unit works and powers on. It has had the following work done to it: Record Player side works, has had a new compatible belt and stylus fitted. It wows and flutters a bit but it was never a high quality deck from new. You can hear it in the video. The old belt that was removed, stylus and an additional new stylus will be provided with the unit. The tapes decks work but are woefully slow, belts have been replaced with a best fit from some I had available but it hasnt helped much. The old belts again are included with the auction. Radio works as far as Im able to test. Cosmetically, one of the speakers has had a bash to the top corner and you can see this in the photos. Both of them do work. The Amstrad logo on one of the speakers has been re-attached as it had fallen off. The main unit has some scuffing on the silvering at the top of the unit but not bad for the age. Some other scuffs on plastic on the main unit but nothing too dramatic. The hinged door towards the top (around the hinge) has been given a good repair, re-enforced from the inside of the unit and Ive tried to show the repair in the photos (image 6). Given its age and build quality, its held up quite well and a reasonable example of this type of unit. Please set your expectations as to the level of audio quality something like this can deliver, even if the tape deck issue is addressed. Its not Hifi and these things were cheap when they came out. But I suspect people bidding on this arent doing for for its audio quality. Any questions please ask.
