Product Description: The plinth is an original Linn plinth constructed from Afromosia hardwood and has that classic Linn fluted finish. It is perfectly square and level, and presents in very good condition. The top-plate is a genuine Linn one which has been carefully cleaned and reinstalled using brand-new hardware. The sub-chassis is an original Linn bonded model which has been thoroughly checked to ensure no warping, carefully cleaned, and re-fit to the plinth also using brand-new hardware. It has an excellent Linn pre-Cirkus bearing (which some say is more musical than later bearings). The bearing has been carefully cleaned and was found to be in superior condition. It comes with the matching Linn inner platter and a beautifully cleaned Linn outer platter. In addition, a genuine and like-new Linn felt mat is included. The tonearm is a genuine Rega RB251 which easily passes the swing and bob tests confirming the horizontal and vertical bearings are in great shape while the head-shell presents in fine condition. As for the mechanics, the springs and grommets are genuine Linn and brand-new while the motor is a genuine Linn model which has been completely cleaned, serviced, and lubricated to give years of trouble-free service. The mudguard washers and aerotight lock nuts have been replaced with brand-new and the ground wire (earth cable) is also a brand-new Linn one. I have supplied a brand-new genuine Linn belt, and a vial of spare Linn oil is also provided for the bearing. The power supply is an original Linn Valhalla that has been thoroughly tested and has a brand-new, fast-blow ceramic fuse installed. It supports 110v or 240v operation and will be set to 110v operation to function in North America unless 240v is requested. I have included a brand-new superior quality 16-gauge, 5-foot power (mains) cable with a North American 3-prong plug which can be swapped for a UK 3-prong plug if desired. The lid (dustcover) is a genuine Linn model and it is in very good condition (one small scratch and a few swirls - see photos), especially considering it is not new while the hinges are brand-new. The base is an original Linn fiber baseboard, and it includes a set of brand-new superior vibration isolation feet. Here for sale is a beautifully designed & manufactured counterweight & shaft for the Rega RB250, RB251, RB300, RB301, RB303, RB330, RB600, RB700 & RB900 tonearms. The main body of the counterweight is CNC machined for accuracy from aluminium grade 6026, the shaft is CNC machined from stainless steel grade 304 & the weights are CNC machined from brass or stainless steel (please specify when ordering). Fitting could not be more straightforward, simply unscrew your existing stub axle or counterweight shaft & screw the new shaft in. You can gently tighten the shaft by inserting an allen key or small drill through the end of the shaft & turning in a clock wise direction. I design & manufacture these counterweights, the development of which, took many hours of experimentation & listening. The results are both visually & audibly impressive. My clear-out continues ..... Once-upon-a-time, this tonearm graced my Rega RP3 24V. In gloss red, it didnt go un-noticed, and this tonearmcontributed to a great sound from my vinyl record collection. The gloss red plinth is long gone (previous upgrade)and the OL1 was put aside in its box. With no likelihood of my using it again, its time to offer it to someone elsewho might put it to good use. An Origin Live enhanced Rega RB251 is the best way to describe this tonearm. I ran it with a Nagaoka MP20 at thebusiness end and it was a delightful sonic combination. There are a few cosmetic marks, courtesy of it being used, but nothing that would impact performance. I bought it second hand, so youd be the third owner. You will observe that the tonearm comes with, what I believeto be, the original packaging. The level of Origin Live upgrade, when purchased by the original owner, is not known to me. All I know is how itsounded while fitted to my RP3. This tonearm will enhance any Rega P2 or P3 from the same time period. A suitable arm-board opens other options.
