Teac Amorphous Play Head 4TR 2Ch. Up for sale is Teac Amorphous Play Head 4Tr 2Ch. They are used and show some wear, but most have years worth of life left in them. There might be a few where the gap barely shows on one channel, but not the other. Either way, they will still last you years of playing time. You can always rotate the play heads around opposite to where the tape passed, causing wear. Rotating the heads around will help them last much longer, however, you might want to double check your alignment for the best sound. I have done this many times, and I never noticed any difference in sound quality. Although I did notice the heads lasting a longer time, as the tape has a new path to travel. As Reel To Reel Tape parts dwindle, we have to be creative and resourceful to keep our Reel Tapes playing. You can always experiment with different types of record and playback heads, as the mounting screws on all the Teac heads, are in the same place.
