For sale is a pair of vintage Acoustic Research AR-4xa 2-way Hi-fi bookshelf speakers. These speakers were tested and are in working order with all original drivers. I am not an expert and cannot attest to the performance of them, but when hooked up to the receiver each of the woofers and tweeters were all functioning as intended. The cabinets and grills are in very good condition given their age with only minor scuffs/marks. Each nameplate is in excellent condition and without damages. Please review all photos for complete detail on the condition of these speakers as this is exactly what you will receive. This item will be well packed with care to ensure a safe delivery. Offered is an OEM Acoustic Research woofer for AR-4X, removed from a working AR-4X speaker. Including 4 original screws and the original gasket. Condition is used. Removed from a working AR-4X this woofer is in very good shape. Cloth surround is nice and has no tears or rotting. The cloth dust cap is complete and not pushed in. There is some paint scrape on the metal basket. I did a superficial cleaning after removing from the cabinet, cleaned up nice, however, still may require further cleaning. Speaker cabinets were in bad shape but still played great as can be seen in the video. In the video this would be the woofer on the right speaker - there is a paper with a “R” on it, this is so I keep them straight. The speaker has 4X2748H stamped on the back - see image. There are some other numbers under this but I can’t make them out. Also on the side looks like a date stamp of MAR 1973 - see image. For reference only is an image of one of the speakers.
