The Kenwood KA-2000 is a true gem of a compact amplifier delivering a solid 13 wpc with lovely fidelity. Kenwood/Trio made some of the sweetest sounding amplifiers from late 1960s through the 1970s with transformerless circuitry that was distinguished by wide frequency response, warmth and an impressive detailed midrange presentation. A well built piece with minimalist cosmetics and controls, the KA-2000 consistently receives user reviews that express surprise and even amazement at how great this little amp performs: Built like a tank...sounds remarkably good... punches well above its weight...really pushes mids. The original AR speakers were replaced in 1976-1977 by new line with Teledyne/AR branding and it was fashionable to look down on many of these, given their undeniably cheaper construction....but these post-classic AR deserved better. The AR-18 were remarkably good cheap speakers which earned respect as audio moved into the early 80s. The 8 inch acoustic suspension woofers delivered a very acceptable but not extended low end in a small box. The midrange detail was wonderful, the overall balance very good.and the top end ( originally a cone tweeter, later a dome) was accurate and pleasing. By 1983-1985 the smaller AR-8B was a very competitive entry level speaker described as remarkably good, while the AR-18S and its successor the AR-18B became a well accepted speakers which sold well to consumers while also making their way into many major recording studios for use as nearfield monitor speaker for checking mixes. Sadly after the 1980s, they were again dismissed by most audiophiles but since 2015 they have gained an almost cult-like following driven by numerous enthusiastic reviews from young listeners. I began using these in my recording studio in 1982 and have probably owned a half-dozen pair since then. Heres a typical user comment: I had a good long session with these speakers { AR-18B} ... and these speakers really do sound fantastic, the front to back imaging is spot on and they cover the mid range perfectly. ACOUSTIC RESEARCH STEREO INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER Offered for sale is this AR Amplifier. I have been sitting on it for decades (stored in a box in a closet) waiting for the day I will put together a quality vintage stereo system. Sadly, I have too many projects and its just not going to happen. I haven’t turned it on in a very long time and I don’t know if it still works. It has not been tested and should be thoroughly checked out, and, given the length of time it has been sitting, likely have components replaced. HiFiAudio.com sells a reasonably priced rebuild/restoration kit (with step-by-step instructions and support/help) for this amplifier. Very clean and good cosmetically, front plate and controls in really nice shape – presents very well. All controls and knobs turn freely. Very minor marks from careful use. Acoustic Research was a Cambridge, Massachusetts company that produced high-end audio components, this model was made from 1968 to 1971 to complement their AR-XA turntable and legendary AR-3 loudspeakers. Very much a minimalist amplifier, with phono, tuner and tape inputs, volume, bass and treble, and signal mode (stereo, mono, null) controls. This was a very powerful (for its time) amplifier with a simple and straightforward set of controls. It was really the first decent sounding solid state integrated amplifier capable of driving low impedance loads cleanly. In the late 60s and 70s this was quite a piece of equipment. These were also very reliable amps too. Wonderful addition for any Acoustic Research fan. Power output: 50 watts per channel into 8? Zum Verkauf steht ein Lenco PA 3202 Research Acoustic Vorverstrker. Der Vorverstrker ist bis vor kurzen in Benutzung gewesen. Sehr feines Gert aus den spten 80ern / Anfang 90ern mit hochwertigen Bauteilen und einem sehr ausgewogen, gut aufgelsten und dynamischen Klang. Leider hat der Lenco jetzt einen Defekt. Er schaltet ein und gibt Ton aus, aber die Tonausgabe ist verzerrt, leiser und teilweise mit Strgeruschen (Knacken). Besser kann ich es leider nicht beschreiben. Deshalb wird der Vorverstrker ausdrcklich als defekt, fr Bastler verkauft! Optischer Zustand des Lenco ist gut. Es gibt aber ein paar Kratzer, v.a. auf der Oberseite (siehe Bilder).
