Like most of this era the remote is starting to get a little tacky (sticky). It has the commemorative gold package installed on it. This gold package was only available to owners of the C2200 who also had the commemorative gold edition MC2000 power amp in 1998. I suspect a previous owner owned the C2200/MC2000 combo and then upgraded the preamp to the C2300 and just reinstalled the gold package onto it. This makes for kind of a one-of-a-kind C2300 that is really wonderful to look at. In May the output tubes installed are Mazda 12AX7 military 1960 NOS long plates made for La Radiotechnique.
