Fr den Angebotspreis wird man keinen besseren Verstrker finden, sowohl optisch als auch klanglich! Der Stereo-Klang ist phantastisch - abgrundtiefe Bsse, warme Mitten und feine, nicht nervende Hhen. Alba A11 BSR UA25 vintage record player, red and grey, complete with BSR X5H cartridge and new ST12/14/15 (LP/78) flippable stylus. This record player is very similar to the majority of British-made record players of the era, eg. the Dansette Bermuda Mk2, using decent quality BSR turntable/changer mechanisms and cartridge and very similar Mullard valve-amp designs. Other brand names using similar components were Fidelity, Pye, Ferguson, Dynatron etc. Alba was the brand name of AJ Balcombe Ltd. of London, founded around the end of WW1. This Alba record player also featured a larger than normal speaker 8x5 elliptical speaker, for improved sound. This late-sixties record player appears to be working well. It was made around 1967/68. I have only gently cleaned and adjusted this and it would undoubtedly benefit from a thorough lubrication and electrical service. I have tested the record player at all speeds (except 16) and it plays all the relevant records well. The auto-positioning, auto-stacking/changing and auto-return also appear to be working well. Ive included a short video with the pictures, with an Elvis 45. I can only include one, so If you would like to see videos at other speeds or other points of the record player cycle, please get in touch. The auto-positioning mechanism also works well with 33s and 78s, though the idler wheel is prone to sticking a little when speeds are changed and would benefit from appropriate lubrication.
