La Zenith Trans-Oceanic 3000 è stata la prima radio dotata della banda FM (88-108 MHz), prodotta dal 63, fino al 1971.Il Royal 3000 prosegue il cammino estetico iniziato dal suo predecessore Royal 1000, di cui condivide mobile ed elementi secondari con alcune lievi differenze nello stemma frontale e nel portello posteriore in plastica scatolata. Elementi come la scala parlante, la manopola di sintonia, gli organi meccanici, il selettore di banda, nonché lantenna “wavemagnet” per onde medie/lunghe e l’antenna telescopica, contenuta nella maniglia, ricalcano quelle del modello precedente.Il pannellino con i comandi di volume, tono, commutatore AM/FM/AFC e luce scala parlante, diventano a sviluppo verticale.Lintroduzione dei circuiti di sintonia per lFM implica leliminazione della banda dei 13 m, ma sono sempre presenti le onde medie (broadcasting), le onde lunghe , quattro bande di onde corte per radiodiffusione mondiale e due bande di onde corte a larga copertura di frequenza (bande marine, meterologia, bande tropicali, PTP, stazioni di tempo ecc.) e lFM. Il modello 3000-1 introduce rispetto al modello 3000 la possibilità di usufruire dellalimentazione esterna da 12 volt con positivo esterno.La radio è a posto esteticamente (ad eccezione di qualche punto di ossidazione sullo chassis cromato visibile nelle foto) ed é stata testata risultando in buone condizioni di funzionamento per letà con un suono chiaro e potente, usa pile da 1,5 volts ma, come visibile nella foto, il contenitore delle batterie ha i contatti corrosi e viene comunque fornito per un eventuale ripristino, oppure può funzionare con alimentazione esterna da 12v (alimentatore fornito) che la rende utilizzabile in casa. Update 7/8/23..... acquired a 2 and 1/2 mm plug and was able to power it up and receive a local FM channel. Vintage Zenith Royal 3000-1 Trans Oceanic FM AM Multiband Transistor Radio. I would consider the overall physical condition to be good to excellent considering the age and having always been stored indoors. Unknown if it works. At worst its an excellent candidate for parts cannibalism....At best, with a 12 volt power source, it may function just fine. I was going to try a functionality test but I have no AC to 12v power source and repairing the battery carrier is out of the scope of my abilities..

Up for sale is a Zenith Royal 3000-1 Transoceanic Radio. This radio is in good working condition and receives on AM and FM and all shortwave bands when reception is appropriate for time and band. It will come with a new battery box that now takes (8) AA Cells in a removable case. A new dial lamp battery case is also included. All batteries are included so the radio will be ready to play right out of the box. Also included is an original Zenith external power supply which is very difficult to find. For tough medium wave reception conditions, I have also included the optional Zenith Wave Magnet complete with suction cups. Cosmetically, this radio is in good B to B+ condition with the exception of the front top flip down cover that shows some bubbling. Please review all images so you may evaluate for yourself. Shipping will be via USPS Parcel Select Ground ONLY to addresses in the the U.S.A. It will be carefully packed for a safe journey to the new owner’s U.S.A address.
