Decware “Zen” SE84UFO custom plinth (this is the twin of the one I sold last week) This auction is for a “wood cradle only” for a Decware SE84UFO Zen amplifier. (see the dimensions below). I’ve built a few of these out of different material, all of them for the SE84UFO and will post them here on ebay auction in the upcoming weeks. The Zen SE84UFO will slide into the plinth and push as far forward as you can. Due to the volume control I built the plinth as short as possible but with clearance to drop in the box which will leave approximately 1/8” gap to the back panel of the plinth. (see picture). The front clearance hole is a 1-¼” and the smaller volume control hole is 9/16” which allows you to use a Decware gold round knob which is $12.99 at Decware. You will have to modify a small Allen wrench to tighten the little set screw. The Allen I modified is a little shorter than it needs to be, you can leave it a little longer than I did and still have the clearance you need to tighten the set screw. Like new. Runs both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges and has a subsonic filter. Used very briefly until I obtained an amplifier with a built in phone pre-amp. The ifi Zen is as good as, if not slightly better than the built in phono pre-amp in my high end amp. I debated keeping it and using it instead of the built-in but could use the money.
