PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION This is my Yamaha CDX-1120 CD player that I purchased new in early 1990 from a Tweeter store in Boston. It was a special order, and took months to come in. It currently mostly works, but I am selling for repair because: 1.) the disc tray is sluggish to open and close, and requires assistance. It probably just needs a new belt, or adjustment. Sometimes it needs no assistance, but often both open and close requires a pull or nudge. 2.) many discs will play, but most randomly skip. Sometimes not for months, sometimes every time. I do not know if the laser needs to be cleaned or adjusted….probably both, but I do not have the knowledge, nor tools to do so. This just started happening the past few months. 3.) orange display does not always display every single track number….Mostly it does, but it has recently started randomly leaving out every other track number. I could not get it to do it for the photos, but it will happen occasionally. I know this is common for Yamaha equipment of this vintage, and can be fixed. This too just started happening. All in all, I think these are easy fixes, and even though I have owned this for 30+ years and loved it, I have moved on. Once repaired, this will be just as stunning as it always has been! Please also notice top right corner ding in titanium face. See pics. This happened, of course, just a couple weeks after I’d received it, when a curtain rod fell from above.
