The system uses a beryllium diaphragm for the diaphragm in the mid- and high-frequency range.This diaphragm was successfully developed using proprietary technology based on the electron beam vacuum deposition method and special alloy technology used in LSI manufacturing technology, and because it is manufactured in a high vacuum, it has fewer compounds and higher purity than rolled plate materials.In addition, as the alloy is evaporated once into atomic or plasma form, it is possible to produce deep domes and tangential edges, which are difficult to achieve with drawing moulding.Furthermore, a special coating of approximately 5 microns is applied to the corrosion-prone beryllium material to protect it from the harmful elements in the atmosphere. Auction is for a pair of the Legendary Yamaha NS-1000M monitor speakers. If you are looking at these you will have some idea of the sheer quality of this design using Beryllium drive units. They are in very good condition on the top front and sides of the cabinets with only very minor wear. The bottom of the cabinets are marked from being used on the floor and with some spiked speakers stands (last two pictures). You can see this more closely in the pictures. They come with original grill covers, there is a tiny hole in one that can only be seen with the grill removed. The protective grills over the mid range have some very slight depressions that are not easily noticed but felt when gently handled. They will also come with the QED tri stands seen in the pictures. These are worth between £50 to £100. They are in near original condition, no scratches, flaking etc. In addition I have the original owner manual and sales brochures. The original terminals were replaced by the dealership to accommodate better quality cables. These are the only modification. I bought these from a Hi-Fi dealership around 20 years ago, trading in some of my other kit to put them with reach of my budget. I have looked after these and they still sound great. In my opinion they are at their best with Class A amplification. I have some other high quality speakers and these are possibly the best. Reluctantly, I am reducing my hi-fi collection as I no longer have the space to accommodate it. These must be collected from North Manchester M35 post code area and I will only take cash payment on collection. Yamaha NS1000M legendary Monitor loudspeakers, refurbished paintwork and WBT terminals. Rewired to bypass tone controls and pinch connectors replaced with German WBT brand speaker terminals for a purer sound. These speakers are known internationally for a tight and massive bass response, with a fast and accurate high and mid range from the use of the rare metal Beryllium in the forming of the tweeters and mid range drivers (the worlds first manufacturer to do so). They are easy to drive - see the numerous reviews on line. Very good condition generally due to refurbishment of paintwork; note there are some small usage scratches underneath the speakers where they connect with the stands and a dent to rear corner woodwork of one speaker not visible from the front. The backs of the speakers are the standard black painted chipboard (not designed to have the same finish as the front and sides, as with most speakers from this vintage era) Original Phillips type Driver fixing screws replaced with top quality stainless steel Allen bolts to increase rigidity of the driver fixing to the cabinet.
