Yamaha M-80 in good physical condition, functionally fully working. This been fully tested, bias is good, no DC offset issues. This is a later model that has all the Yamaha mods (Technical Bulletin 66H) that made the unit more reliable. With the Yamaha updates, this essentially is identical to the M-85 electronically and functionally. Some lettering in the front panel looks erased due to cleaning agent. Its a small area missing 4 and 8 signs over the buttons, hardly very noticeable unless you look for it. New lamps installed, Cold solder joints reflowedAmp ready for another few decades. The dreaded corrosive glue issue with these units has been addressed and mitigated. I replaced Diodes/ capacitors/ resistors to mitigate the corrosive glue issue with these amplifiers. This is a CRITICAL service otherwise your amplifier can suddenly die. over the years the glue eats away at copper and kills diodes/ caps/ resistors depending where it was applied. These M-80s sound amazing, and is now fully functional. The output stages and main capacitors are all good and stock, as are the drivers. I tested full power into 4 ohms and prior to clipping gave me more than 547 watts into 4 ohms (both channels driven). At 8 ohms, it pumps out 287 watts before clipping. Sounds amazing, soft, delicate, detailed. All knobs/ switched were serviced and work great. Please see photos for condition and ask questions before buying if unsure.

The preamp works 2 item works but the original owner said it might need service. Diagnosing these inside is beyond my comprehension. I buy / sell test them if they turn on and works. Vintage Yamaha M-80 Amplifier. For parts only, EVERYTHING GETS POWER but the screen went out. Item has been tested after screen went out and everything worked but did not want to pay to get it fixed as I no longer really need the item. Sold as is. No refunds for this item. The screen does not power up, which in turn is not allowing the machine to power on. Photo with screen on just happen to be taken a couple days before the power went out.

This Yamaha was an Estate find. I tested it for sound and it worked out of all the speaker terminals. As you can see the ones on the left are loose and when I opened it, they appear to have the plastic part broken off. Please see pictures. Also I couldn’t get the red VU Meter on the left side to light up. No further testing was done. Please see all pictures for condition as this has marks and scratches on it.
