Ich habe ein Foto gemacht, aus einem solchen Winkel, dass man einen kleinen Kratzer wie ein Haar sehen kann, aus einem bestimmten Winkel ist er zu sehen. Teil der Centennial-Serie und in sehr geringen Stückzahlen produziert: 1987 war die LP-Wiederholung eindeutig auf dem Rückzug, und Yamaha muss darüber nachgedacht haben, da der HX vier Monate nach den anderen in die Produktpalette aufgenommen wurde. Der HX-10000 „bietet den Inbegriff anspruchsvoller audiophiler Leistung“: Wie beim CDX-10000 enthält das HX-Gehäuse zwei separate Untergehäuse, eines mit der Stromversorgung und das andere mit den Verstärkerstufen. Das globale Chassis besteht aus 9 mm (vorne), 5 mm (oben und unten) und 3 mm (hinten) extrudierten Aluminiumstücken. Die vier doppelseitigen Glas-Epoxid-Verstärkerplatinen werden jeweils von fünf 8-mm-Messingpfosten getragen; OFC-Verkabelung (auch im dicken AC-Kabel), 1 %-Folienkappen, Aluminiumkappen, Bypass-Kappen, vergoldete OFC-Sammelschienen und durchgehende Vorschriften. Die Anschlüsse sind alle aus Messing geschnitten und vergoldet – Erdungspfosten inklusive. Die vier Abschirmboxen, in denen die vier EQ-Stufen untergebracht sind, ähneln denen des CX-10000.
