However, other than the squeal, it is working properly and sounds very nice. Tested playing to external speakers and headphones and played around with some of the knobs. The cassette open and close does sometimes gets stuck and is a common issue with this model. But being mindful of where to press when closing the door lets it ‘seat’ properly. (I.e., pressing the upper left corner of the door to close) A bit of wear on the top, small dent and some paint loss near the corner as shown. Also a lot of internal dust. No repair has been attempted and is a good candidate for restoration as the belts are likely getting old too. Listed for half the price of a restored version.

Yamaha KX-580 Natural Sound Stereo Cassette Deck. Fully working and in great condition. This has been in my system for a couple of years and used regularly (im from the cassette tape era). Only selling as have changed player in the system. This sounds great on playback with recorded cassettes from back in the day and newly purchaced cassettes. Dolby B-C-S NR HX PRO. This has a few marks on the casing but still looks great in a stack. Record function is working as it should, recorded Glastonbury highlights on a blank cassette and it sounded great. No remote included but works with amp and reciever remotes from the era. Postage to outside the UK mainland message me first.
