This is a versatile preamplifier (called by Yamaha a Stereo Control Amplifier). It can be paired with any power amplifier. It was in fine working condition when I retired it several years ago -- I preferred a model with Phono MC cartridge capability which the AVC-70 does not have. May need Anti-ox spray on some of its controls, having sat unused for awhile. Some of its features include triple tone controls, delay time adjustment, and a choice of modes: Live, Hall, Simulated Stereo, and Dolby Surround. Inputs available are: Phono, CD, Tuner, DAT, Tape, TV, LD/CDV, AUX, VCR 1 and VCR 2. It does have some scratches, mainly on the top of the cabinet. Dimensions: 17-1/4 W x 13 D x 3-3/4 H.

This auction is for a professionally restored and fully tested Yamaha C-70 vintage preamplifier. This is definitely an audiophile piece, that sounds amazing. It is in superb condition, cosmetically about a 9/10 (few very minor scratches and two tiny dings from stacking) and functionally 10/10. This preamp was completely gone through by the noted Adcom guru (who also has a passion for Yamaha products), Jon Morris or Wyoming (see enclosed invoice). He replaced some capacitors in the power supply, checked, cleaned, and tested the relays (for change of inputs), as well as double and triple checked everything else. It is about as close to factory fresh as you can get. The only reason I am selling it is because I purchased a Parasound P6 Halo preamp, and the Yamaha is simply not needed anymore. NOTE: Please make certain not to cover the top vents in the case. These high-end preamps tend to run warm. If you cover the vents, the thermal protection circuits may activate to prevent damage. I had always run the preamp at the very top of my system stack to provide adequate ventilation. SHIPPING: $35.00 FLAT RATE in the continental USA. The item will be exceptionally well packaged, and come with a signature requirement. In this fashion, it will not be drop-shipped and left at the door.
