This older model Yamaha amplifier is part of theseries where the Stereo/Mono switch is reversed.When listening in Stereo...the switch is in the Mono position.Vice Versa for Mono listening.I dont know if Yamaha miss labeled the face plates,or reversed the switch on the circuit board.Regardless doesnt affect play at all.Threw in some Velcro wire ties...keeps the cables nice and tidy. Powers on, and makes sounds, but the sound is distorted. When in stereo mode sound only comes out right channel, and the sound is distorted. When in mono the sound comes out of both right-left, but is distorted and scratchy. I took the top case off and there is some glue from the caps leaked onto the board which did corrode a diode. This is beyond my skills to diagnose and repair, therefore Im selling it as parts only, which sucks because I really wanted to hear this beast push my Cerwin Vega D-3s, but Id rather be rid of the amp and get something else.
