Offered up here, (2) integrated amplifiers by Yamaha. Same model, the A-550 - a runner-up for the AudioVideo Grand Prix award in 1981. Also an amp that has been very much coveted by me. Unfortunately these (2) didnt quite make it to today. Although cosmetically okay, both amps have distortion in one or both channels that require repair. Most of the indicator lights work, but a few are out. Tone/Volume controls are good, but could probably use another good cleaning. In its day, the Yamaha featured 40 Watts/Channel RMS. It also sported the Continuous Loudness feature that Yamaha invented. As well as the RECORD OUT function, that would allow listening to one source while recording from another. A somewhat dated feature, but pretty cool at the time. In any case, these were projects basically out of my expertise, and ones that I never got around to doing. A common story.

The listing is for a Yamaha Natural Sound Stereo Amplifier A-550 I purchased the Yamaha and a pair of speakers in 2019. I only needed the speakers so the Yamaha has been stored in my spare room until this week. The amplifier powers on and all 4x speaker channels are producing sound through the speakers. But sadly it has some loud buzzing/crackle interference on all channels. The interference stops if that speaker channel is turned off. I imagine it needs some kind of service. Overall the Yamaha in in excellent condition. Collection from Stoke On Trent (ST3) or Telford (TF12) I do not mind dropping it off if near either of the postcodes.
