The XQ-1 was the smaller of the two bookshelf speakers under the XQ series. By adopting the Hypertweeter that was only available on the Reference series, audiophiles could now enjoy the same reference quality sound from their Reference series at a more affordable price point. One thing you will notice about the speakers is how the cabinet is not straight and “squared” away like most speakers. They are curved on all sides except the front and back which resulted in a less boxy sounding speaker that you would normally associate with flat surfaced bookshelf speakers. Bass is nice and tight and although not room shaking, is pretty sufficient for most room sizes (except the largest of rooms). The mids and highs is where everything comes together. Nicely detailed and pin-point precise, the XQ-1 won marks for an accurate reproduction of music and a seamless integration with its Hypertweeter and UNI-Q driver. All in all, the XQ-1 is a very good speaker that will not disappoint if you are looking for bookshelf speakers for under $2000. No doubt there are better sounding speakers but you would have to spend a lot more to ensure you are getting a pair that will thrash this XQ-1. Original retail price $1500.Condition: Like new

Rare KEF XQ One XQ1 120w 8 Ohm stereo bookshelf speaker in excellent Condition

Very nice condition with no chips, dings, or gouges in the paint or finish. No rips, tears, or pilling on the cloth speaker covers. Physical condition 8/10, with only minor scuffs and light surface scratches in a few discreet areas as would be expected for a pre-owned item. European made speakers of one of the finest brands of speaker out there. MSRP for the pair was almost $800 and they were produced around the year 2005. Serial numbers are in sequence: 186345F and 186346F. Each speaker came with two bridges to bridge the high and low frequency inputs if desired. One of those bridges is missing as seen in the photo of the rear of the speaker. The other speaker has both bridges. Thank you for looking, and buy with confidence!
