Excellent condition

Excellent working condition. Sounds and works great. You simply input your stereo amps speaker outputs and then connect your speakers to this subwoofer. The driver is intact and no damages. There are some visible blemishes in the case from the previous use which I included close up pictures. Please check the pics carefully, pics are part of the description of the cosmetic condition. From Stereophile:Its a tubed output stage and buffer. The X-10D has two sets of RCA jacks, input and output (youll need an extra set of interconnects). You put the X-10D between your CD player and your preamp, active or passive. Or you can put it after your preamp, active or passive. Or you can put one X-10D before the preamp and another one after, if you like—which would have the effect of tubing everything before it goes to your power amp. Ive had this unit for many years and have used it off and on over that time.It had the original tubes but I tube rolled to get better sound. I eventually landed on Amperex (Bugle Boy) 7308, expensive but very long lived and sounds great. I did try other 6DJ8 variants (6DJ8/6922/7308) from different makers but the Amperex tubes worked best.

Please note, sold as parts, one woofer has a rubbing noise. From my research it seems like this might be coil rub, but I’m not sure. Once again, sold as parts.

Bought this to go between my DAC preamp and my power amp. However I’ve upgraded my amplifier and no longer have RCA input connections so I no longer require this. I personally changed out all the caps with audiophile and low-esr upgraded caps and changed the cheap Chinese tubes to a matched pair of NOS tubes. The unit sounds absolutely fabulous. Best way to add analog warmth to digital sources.
